I have a long history of migrane headaches. Occasionally my usual medications at home (Imetrex) do not work and I have to go to the er for stronger medications.

The Er at Baptist is very nice and the people were pleasant enough. The wait time wasnt too bad. However once I got into the room the problems began. I am a 30 year migrane sufferer. I know by now what works and what doesnt. They automatically hooked me up with fluids, which is normal. And gave me 2 different shots for nausea. Then I asked the nurse what the doctor planned on giving me for the migrane and she told me well he just did. And proceeded to give me the "drug addict" speech. Which upset me to no end. I am a 60 year old grandmother. I have never been in this hospital before. I have not been in ANY hospital for any reason since December of 2012 and that was for a heart condition and Im automatically a drug addict because I come to this hospital 1 time for migrane pain! If I had been there several times before I could understand their concern. If I had been to any other hospital in the area for pain meds I could understand their concern but this is not the case. Well after I let them know I was NOT happy about being pegged a drug user right off the bat everyones attitudes changed very quickly and were willing to do everything they could to relieve my pain.

I did not appreciate being belittled to begin with by the doctor and the nurses. It was a very unfair assessment for them to make. So be very careful if you go in there in any sort of pain!
