General Info: Social dancing is a long tradition of world culture, says Mistalocks. Steppin is based on the social exchange between partners and the community of dancers; it is a fundamental part of our heritage. Mistalocks years studying African Martial Arts has given him a relation with the drum that is passionate. It also has brought him to Swing dancing the genre of dance Steppin' derives. Buford G. Collins Master Instructor of Mistalocks Chicago Style Steppin' has been studying and teaching dance since 2001. His Specialty is Chicago Style Steppin' but he has training and experience in many other forms of social dance. Buford is versed in Detroit Ballroom, Detroit Bop, New York Hustle, Salsa, Tango, Graystone, Walkin' and more... plus general partner dancing techniques. His vision is to teach the art of Steppin to the masses. He is now on a mission to have his dance studio be Detroits best environment for Steppin instruction.
