I do not have any complaints about the doctor's treatment to my children, however they have a terrible receptionist that has been rude, on more than one occasion, which to me equals to terrible customer service, and I'm taking my business somewhere else, where they employees appreciate my business, and they show it.

Primary Care
When you don’t vaccinate, you take a significant risk with your child’s health and the health of others around them. The presence of such risks creates a difficult dilemma for primary care pediatricians. ALL children deserve safe, high-quality medical care. Pediatricians overall, are committed to the care of ALL children. However, that commitment to safe, high-quality care means that pediatricians have an obligation to make their offices and clinics as safe as they can possibly be. The presence of unvaccinated children in our offices poses a small, but real risk of transmitting vaccine-preventable diseases to our other patients, especially those who are immunocompromised, those who cannot be immunized, and those who, by no fault or choice of their own, face the prospect of significant morbidity or mortality should they acquire a vaccine-preventable disease.
Family Practice
Denise grew up here in Fayetteville. She is a graduate of the Methodist University PA Program, 2010. She has worked in the Fayetteville area since graduating with experience in the ER, urgent care, family medicine, and pain management. She has loved caring for children here at Legacy Pediatrics and along the way. She has two energetic boys at home that keep her on her toes and leave her little time for personal hobbies, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Emergency Care
Legacy Pediatrics will arrange for your child to be admitted to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Most children are transported to the hospital by private vehicle, but we can arrange ambulance transport if necessary. Depending on your child’s condition, you may be directed to the hospital emergency room or directly to the floor for admission.
Immunizations
This said, we recognize that there has always been and will likely always be controversy surrounding vaccination. The vaccine campaign is truly a victim of its own success. It is precisely because vaccines are so effective at preventing illness that we are even discussing whether or not they should be given. Because of vaccines, many of you have never seen a child with polio, tetanus, whooping cough, bacterial meningitis, or even chickenpox. Such success can make us complacent about vaccinating. This attitude, if it becomes widespread, can only lead to tragic results. In 2012, there were more than 48,000 cases of pertussis (whooping cough) in the United States, resulting in 22 deaths. Most victims were infants younger than six months of age. Many children who contracted the illness had parents who made a conscious decision not to vaccinate.

Labor and Delivery
Cape Fear Valley Medical Center will ask you to choose a pediatrician as you get admitted to Labor and Delivery. Please tell them you have chosen us, and we will see your infant in the hospital after delivery.

Autism
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. We firmly believe in the safety of our vaccines. We firmly believe that all children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics. We firmly believe, based on all available literature, evidence, and current studies, that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
All appointments are scheduled. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to all scheduled appointments. We do not have walk-in hours. If you arrive without an appointment, you will be offered the next available opening. Please provide 4 business hours notice for cancellations and/or changes to any appointment; this allows us to offer the time to another patient in need. ADD/ADHD & AAP’s must arrive no later than the scheduled appointment time. (All other appointment types) Arriving 15 minutes past the appointment time will result in rescheduling. All well appointments will receive a text reminder 2 business days prior to your scheduled slot to the primary cell phone number on file. In case of an office emergency or an illness, our staff will attempt to reschedule your appointment to a convenient day and time. In the event of inclement weather, please call to verify if the office will be open or closed.
