I have used this kennel several times and my dogs like going here. You can have your pets bathed while being boarded and at a discount. Who doesn't like discounts?

Overall

Best Kennel around.

5 stars!

The run down:

-very professional and personal with the animals

-very clean. check it out for yourself.

-service (calling in etc) was above excellent!

-other reviews I feel are False based on my experience

-Not ran by kids! (i once was young and I wouldn't had trusted myself with the life of someone dog so why should I trust a random kid with my dog?)

Will be my #1 for now.

I spent a good amount of time looking for a kennel for my puppy and I am glad I did. Kurt, the owner, was very nice and professional about everything.

I had taken a tour prior to making my final choice based on concerns stated in previous reviews. I can say I didn't see of the so called problems others have stated. I concluded these claims were made in anger and have no weight to them.

My dog stated with Dog Gone Acres for 4 days (5 if you count the day I picked her up) this april 4/2014.

At drop off everything went smooth. Kurt just asked me some questions and got to know my dog before I left. He asked me to make sure I called in to check up on her while I was on my trip which I was happy to do.

Checked in on her daily without an issue.

At pick up she didn't even want to leave! She smelt fine and was as clean as when I left her.

I could tell she had made a friend in Kurt.

Thanks!

*Dog is a Siberian Husky 11 months old

I have had her since she was 3 month. I try my best to take her to public areas that accept pets so she isn't scared in times like this.

*for those we complain about cages:

Look into kennel training. You will see its not cruel or unusual, but a safe place.

Not Happy

We assumed since they had been around for so many years that it would be a professional experience. When we picked up our dog he smelled horrible, and I was kept in a rusty metal cage through his entire stay. Never again.

Kurt took care of my dog's for 15 yrs before they passed away-they received nothing but the best care-when they stayed with Kurt,-the only thing they needed from me was to pay the bill! I will return with my second generation in the near future!

A decent alternative if you ca...

A decent alternative if you can't find anywhere else, but the animals are kept in cages depending on their size all day and night. The "exercise" they get is being walked to a larger run where they walk through their own mess. Not much one on one attention offered, and at times the owners can be outright rude. Decent pricing, but when you consider the service you receive, it doesn't really matter.

Obviously you have never been on a tour of dog gone acres. Your information about our exercise procedure is completely incorrect. Funny that every one else is impressed with the cleanliness of our facility. Please contact the owners and let them know who you are. I treat people the way they treat Me,Were you rude???

Oh No

This place I thought would be the perfect place for my puppy while I was away on business.I toured the facility with my pet prior to deciding to leave him in their care. He was a little excited, but calmed down almost instantly with the owner Kurt.I was assured my pet would receive the extra attention needed for a first time boarder. Boy, the story changed once I got there on my way to the airport with the co-owner. Yes, my companion was a little anxious once he realized he was being left.I was there 5 min and was told I could only leave him if he calmed down.He was scared, wouldn't any animal be who had never been left ? I was told by the owner I was going to have to come get him if he did not calm down!!! Did I say I was on my way to the airport. Needless to say in 5 min, which was the time alloted for him to calm down. He did not calm down, and leaving Florida to pick up my pet was not an option.I was told I could not board him at this facility.

What happened to the extra attention, the compassion I was promised he would be given for his first boarding experience? There was none!! 5minutes !!! was all the time given for him to adjust.

I missed my flight and had to find another facility. Petsmart boarded him without any problem!!!! He calm down after a little extra attention was given to him and he realized he would be in caring hands. I checked on him frequently while in Florida and they loved him!!! If you are looking for your pet to be treated like you would treat at home when he is anxious or nervous. or looking for a facility that you would be comfortable for their first boarding experience I DO NOT recommend this place.

I am the owner of dog gone acres,I would be glad to speak to you about this issue. Evidently I had no problem with your pet at the time but I believe there must be more to the story. As you can see I have nothing but good reviews therefore I would urge you to contact Me to review this issue.
