Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue that forms the lining of the inside of the uterus is found outside of the uterine cavity. This can cause painful periods, generalized pelvic pain, painful bowel movements, pain with sex, and infertility. The only way to know for sure that you have endometriosis is through surgery. However, you can still be treated for endometriosis based off of your symptoms. Treatment for endometriosis includes medication, surgery, or sometimes both. Our providers can help determine what treatment is best for you.

Cervical Cancer
The Annual Exam is a yearly checkup on your sexual, reproductive, and overall health. Some things that may be done at your annual exam include a pap smear (cervical cancer screening), breast exam, pelvic exam, preventative counseling, contraception management, STI testing, and discussion of healthy lifestyle habits.

Ultrasound
Ultrasounds use low-power sound waves to capture images. There is no radiation exposure from an ultrasound, so this is why they are safe in pregnancy. During a transabdominal ultrasound, gel is applied to your skin and this helps produce a clearer image. The gel is water-based and can be easily removed from skin or clothing if necessary. Sometimes a transvaginal ultrasound is needed to evaluate a pregnancy or a gynecologic condition.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
In minimally invasive surgery, the surgeon is able to operate with less damage to the body than traditional "open" surgery. Minimally invasive surgery is associated with less pain, fewer complications, and quicker recovery times.
Endometrial Ablation
An endometrial ablation is a procedure used to treat heavy periods. It destroys the lining of the uterus so that menstrual bleeding is much lighter or, in some cases, stops completely. This can be done as an out-patient procedure in our office.
