Oral Cancer Screening
OralID® is a handheld light used in complement with oral cancer screenings to detect cancerous or pre-cancerous lesions. This is achieved using fluorescence technology, a blue light-based protocol that is scientifically proven to help your dentist see mucosal irregularities. With OralID®, your dental hygienist simply shines a small light into your mouth to identify potential abnormalities. Any growths that may be out of the ordinary should appear darker than the rest of your oral tissues, allowing your hygienist to more accurately assess the lesion. Ultimately, OralID® can make your oral examinations more effective and allow our dentists to better diagnose your oral health concerns.

Teeth Cleaning
Over time, the accumulation of these staining agents can start to penetrate the light yellow, porous layer of tissue underneath the enamel known as the dentin. While daily teeth cleaning can strip the tooth surface of bacteria and food debris, stains that reach the dentin are rarely affected by brushing and flossing. Fillings

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
The dentists say there are three common treatments for sleep apnea. One of the most frequently prescribed is the Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (or CPAP) device, which uses a machine with pressurized air connected to a facial mask to open a patient’s airways while sleeping. Oral surgery on the patient’s soft palate, tongue or other areas could be recommended if previous treatment options are unsuccessful, advises Dr. Klumb. While those treatment options can often be very effective, the Eureka dentists say customized oral appliances offer an advanced alternative to patients. Many patients are candidates for this type of sleep apnea treatment, Dr. Klumb says, and oral appliances typically allow for a more comfortable and convenient way to open up breathing passages for a healthier, more peaceful night’s sleep.
Tooth Extractions
Our goal for children who require orthodontic treatment is to create a proper foundation for a healthy bite and beautiful smile with as little discomfort as possible. We often place traditional braces using light-force wires for adolescent patients and almost never utilize teeth extractions, headgear, spacers, or separators. We also have a wide collection of rubber band colors available for your child’s braces so they can straighten their teeth according to their individual taste. We generally aim to complete a child’s orthodontic treatment plan within one to two years.
Bone Grafting
Most patients do not need bone grafting before their implant procedure, but this depends on how much bone density is available to support your implant(s). If there is not enough jawbone volume to provide a stable foundation for the implant, a bone graft may be necessary to regenerate new bone. It is generally true that the more bone loss is experienced the longer a tooth has been missing. Consequently, the likelihood of needing a bone graft increases with the amount of time spent without a tooth replacement.

Dr. Menolascino has now been in practice for several years and has developed skills in several specialty areas of dentistry. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Missouri Dental Association, as well as the Academy of General Dentistry.
