Provided by DexKnowsBE WARNED:This guy came to my home to repair my Whirlpool dryer. The main control board was fried and he ordered and replaced the board. He did not thoroughly test that the dryer was functioning properly. A couple days later I used the dryer and after less than 1 minute the dryer stopped and displayed an error code. I phoned back and explained what happened. The error code indicated that another part was faulty and he instantly wanted to order me a new part. When I asked if he was going to charge me for another service call he said he was which would be $69.00. I had just 2 days prior paid him $129.00 labor + 330.00 for the part. After I disputed the new trip charge he became defensive and unreasonable and told me that it was my dryer and my problem.HERE'S THE KICKER:I hung up on the guy because I was getting nowhere. After looking at the troubleshooting guide I discovered that it could be several possible problems not JUST a faulty part. When I opened up the dryer and looked at the control board he replaced I noticed a stray wiring harness not plugged in to an obvious place on the circuit board. I plugged in the harness and the dryer worked fine - problem solved.BOTTOM LINEHad this guy run a proper diagnostic after he made the repair this problem would have been caught the first time. It takes the machine from 30-60 seconds to run a test in order to determine that everything is functioning properly according to the manual. Clearly he is not thorough and there are gaps in his knowledge of Whirlpool dryers. In my opinion, this guy is more concerned about making a fast buck by racking up service call fees and making 2 second diagnoses than fixing things properly the first time, following proper diagnostic procedures and establishing good customer service. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Provided by DexKnowsOne thing that really stood out to me when I called Darrell to fix my washer is hen said he was going to be at my place between 10-11am and he was at my house at 10:05am. Other places I have used gave me a four hour window for when they would show up and always kept me waiting. Besides showing up on time, he fixed my washer and educated me on how to prevent this from happening in the future. Thanks Darrell!
