        Therapy emPOWERS was founded by Teresa Powers. She envisioned it as a place of healing for kids and their families. Therapy emPOWERS provides a nurturing atmosphere that always makes them feel welcome and safe. Teresa is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), licensed with the state of CO, who is also a Reiki master, play therapist, and yoga therapist. Teresa started counseling so she could help change lives. She takes a nurturing and holistic perspective in treating her clients. Therapy emPOWERS has set itself apart from other therapy providers by taking a grounded approach. This means that, for one, Teresa doesn't overwhelm her clients and their families or guardians with clinical theories. She takes time to get to know them and find out more about them. It is important for her to forge genuine friendships with them. She wants them to know that she will do her best to help them become strong enough to overcome the challenges they face.
