I have developed a lot of floaters in my eyes & hot feelings in my ears and back. I had bruising after the procedure & a puffy line under my upper lip. I have hypothyroidism and possibly rheumatoid arthritis. Am I having an autoimmune response to the product and if so what do I do. It is making me really nervous.

Medical Weight Loss

A.Congratulations on your pregnancy. Discuss your Emsella treatment with your obstetrics physician. Hopefully the muscle contractions did not affect your fetus. There have not been any studies on the affect of Emsella on pregnancy, and it should not be done on pregnant women. That said, at such an early stage of pregnancy the treatment should not have an adverse effect. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Labor and Delivery

A.Though metal implants are a contra-indication to having Emsculpt, many physicians have treated patients with titanium implants as titanium does not heat from electromagnetic energy. Check with your lumbar surgeon to make sure that you have no metallic implants. If your surgeon allows you to have a MRI after your back surgery then you should be safe to have Emsculpt treatments. Blepharoplasty
An ideal candidate for blepharoplasty has excess skin in their upper eyelids with eyebrows that are not sagging (the eyebrows are at or above the upper bony ledge of the orbital bone). Patients should be in otherwise good health, have realistic expectations, and desire to undergo the surgery for the appropriate reasons. During your consultation, Dr. Persky will evaluate your eyelid skin and help you to decide if you are a good candidate for blepharoplasty.
Abdominoplasty
A.Congratulations on your twins. I would recommend waiting for some time before considering extensive tummy tuck surgery. Exercise, diet, and time should help some with your diastasis recti. If after time the separation of your abdominal muscles remains large, then abdominoplasty is the answer. It there is a great deal of improvement and your diastasis recti is minimal then Emsculpt will help. Time will tell. Enjoy the new members of your family. Good luck and be well.
Nose Surgery
Some patients choose to combine their chin surgery with other facial rejuvenation surgeries like facelift surgery or neck lift surgery. Other patients choose to combine their chin implant surgery with rhinoplasty (nose surgery) to sculpt the nose and create better facial proportions.
Body Lift
I recently had a lower body lift and fat graft to my buttocks and I love the result, however subtle. I think I have retained about 30% of the fat taken from outer/inner thighs. I do exercise regularly but I find it difficult to gain muscle, especially now at 52. Emsculpt for buttocks (and off label thighs?) is an appealing idea to build a bit more projection under the fat, I just don’t want to lose the fat that I have. Is this possible?
Breast Surgery
A: If you have y our breasts operated on first, then you may have your nose done a week or two later. If you have your nose done first then you should wait 2-3 months before your breast surgery because anesthesiologists use masks on your nose. The most important aspect of either surgery is making sure that you choose your operating surgeons most carefully. I highly recommend consulting with Ari Hyman, MD (Encino, CA) for your nose. Otoplasty
Ideal candidates for otoplasty donâ€™t like the appearance of their ears or donâ€™t have a natural fold or helix in the ear (the first crease inside the top edge of the ear) causing them to protrude. Children commonly undergo otoplasty to prevent teasing from other kids at school and must be at least five years of age to ensure their ears have stopped growing. Adults also undergo this procedure to correct ear deformities. Children and adults should be prepared both physically and mentally for surgery. For teenagers and beyond, it is important a patient has a positive outlook about the surgery and are undergoing the procedure for themselves.

Facial Implants
Dr. Persky answer: Hi Josh, I would treat you with Sculptra which naturally builds your own collagen and is long lasting once you achieve correction. I am not a fan of either facial implants or fat in young patients.
Chin Augmentation
Mentoplasty is a quick and easy procedure with lasting results. Once general or local anesthesia is administered, Dr. Persky makes a small, one inch incision under the chin in the natural crease. The implant is placed anatomically below the muscle directly on the mandible bone in a small pocket created to accept the implant precisely. After implant placement, the incision is closed. The sutures are removed after about five days.

Skin Cancer
Dr. Persky’s Reply: I would recommend that you stop your daily tanning bed treatments both for the damage it is doing to your skin as well as the increased risk of skin cancer. At age 25, you have done quite a bit to your face. At this point I would treat you with foundational Sculptra and possibly Ulthera over the next few years. A.No need to worry. having had filler in the area will not affect how a pimple heals. Please make sure that the “pimple” is not an infection from the filler injection (more likely if you have new “pimples” in the places where you were injected.) Although many of my dermatology colleagues love to say, “Popping pimples never gets old!”, please do not “pick” your pimples to avoid scarring. Good luck and be well.
