If you are experiencing any inflammation in the gums, sensitivity in the teeth, or tooth decay, there may be some slight discomfort during the exam. If discomfort is experienced, be sure to communicate that to the provider, and no matter the procedure, the discomfort can immediately be stopped. Lastly, a thorough teeth cleaning, especially in a mouth with sensitive teeth, may feel slightly uncomfortable. This can be easily adjusted with a more gentle pressure and warmer water, so don’t hesitate to ask.
