Took in 2000 Mercury Cougar for a diagnostic check, told them I was charging the battery every week. Auto Zone check showed a bad alternator and check engine light was on. They came back and said the starter and flywheel needs to be replace as well as the dpfe sensor needed to be replace. Also the transmission needed to be inspected for problems. $1,610.02 plus whatever else they find wrong with the transmission. Did not mention anything about the Alternator being bad, when I ask about the alternator I was told they could not check it because they could not start the car? I ask how they got the car out of the garage back into the lot, and was told they pushed the vehicle out to the lot. What a crock..... anybody got a bridge to sell me in the desert. I left with the car starting right up knowing I WAS about to be screw out of more than the $69.00 I paid for the diagnostic. Not sure if the car must be running for a diagnostic test and will not stick around to find out.
