Overall

My son has been seen there for the past year. When he started with them, he could not be understood by anyone. Now friends that I have not seen for awhile are amazed that they can understand his speech! He is not frustrated and now I really believe he will be ready for Kindergarten in the Fall. This is a wonderful place with great therapists. My thanks to Marla, Betsy, Emily and Brady for all the work done for my son. They are amazing!

Overall

Both of my daughters were seen at Speech Therapy Professionals for apraxia of speech. Betsy and Marla were wonderful!!! They expained to me what apraxia of speech is and worked with me to help my girls.

We are a military family and they were wonderful with managing all the hoops of TriCare. That was a blessing. We are now transferred from Oklahoma to Virgina. I still call Marla and Betsy with any questions and they spend time working with me over the phone to help with any minor problems with the girls.

Now both girls have understandable speech. My 7 years old is not frustrated anymore since her speech is understandable. She is no longer afraid to talk to others and is doing so well in school. My 3 year old came to Speech Therapy Professional with hardly any words and what words she did say were not understood. Now she is talking in sentences! Her speech is understood by anyone she talks to and this makes life so much better for all of us.

I would highly recommend this speech theraapy group to any parent who wants quality personal speech therapy services.

I have been at Speech Therapy ...

I have been at Speech Therapy Professionals for about two years now and I have two sons ages 4 and 6 years who receive therapy from them. They are fantastic! Not only have they made amazing progress in the two years they have been seeing Marla, Betsy and Shannon, but they have taken personal interest in each of my children (even the one's who don't receive therapy there). From the time we first started there they were thorough in their testing, using several sessions and testing various areas and kind in their approach. They have dealt with alot from my 6 year old autistic son and have been nothing but understanding and caring with him. We also have Tricare and I agree it is difficult to find providers who are willing to deal with the hassle of Tricare but I have not had to deal with Tricare once. They have taken care of everything! As someone who is seeking their master's degree in psycology I can see how they have deftly combined theory with personal care. In fact Marla was the first person to notice with my son John was having seizures and both Besty and Shannon had them documented before we even had him officially diagnosed. Also my other son has learned how to talk in sentences since we started with this amazing group. They have NEVER in two years been a no show...and in fact have been super patient with our crazy schedule. We love them! and look forward to many more years with them! We would highly recommend them. They are experienced (with varying levels of ability) as well as with both autism and Fragile X kids. Awesome group!

THE standard for speech therap...

THE standard for speech therapy, my sons' ability to speak exploded after visits with Marla and Betsy. They are always curteous even when I have had to call and cancel last minute on consecutive occasions. And just like their name implies, they are PROFESSIONALS! They have a real concern for their patients and family and the atmosphere in their waiting area is very welcoming. We use Tricare and all we had to do was fill out the initial paperwork, I have not had to worry about it since. They are more than helpful when dealing with IEPs and providing any and all therapy and prognosis documentation to our sons' teachers. Anyone who says these therapists are anything but great obviously have never went to them and must be confused.

I have been taking my 5 year old son to Speech Therapy Professionals since May 2011. The therapists there are the most knowledgeable, compassionate, professional people I have encountered on my journey with my son on the road of ASD. Their knowledge and network of other professionals are phenomenal. My son is comfortable with the therapists and so am I.

I also want to add that they have more knowledge about Tricare and how Tricare works(what they will accept and what they will not accept) than most of the representatives at Tricare that I have dealt with over the past 14 years.

Very unprofessional. We would arrive to our appt to find no therapist. They didn't bother to call and cancel, didn't return phone calls. One had no patience with children. The other one talked about her personal problems throughout the session, giving my child very little therapy, and bad-mouthed other providers. Bad experience all around.

Don't use them! They've been holding my childs medical records hostage for over 2 months while I've changed my childs therapist. I still don't have them and now am looking at filing charges against them for this. Extremely unprofessional.

They were impossible to get ahold of and never return phone calls. They take Tricare but have no idea how the Tricare process works. You do all the insurance work.

Nothing but headaches with this place and totally not worth it.

Warning! Stay away if you value your child and time.
