I equate Terry with your company IT people. He is very knowledgeable about everything in the store but may get a bit irritated with the musically ignorant such as myself. However, I received a guitar as a gift that had a warped neck. Terry exchanged it for a better one at no extra cost. Went in to buy a Ike as a gift and didn't see the one I wanted. Terry ordered it, got it in in just a few days, tuned it, and charged the same as Amazon. I have been very satisfied with their service.

Hello, I am a Music Education student preparing to teach professionally in the OKC metro. I do not recommend any of Mr. Gilliams' stores, but especially Edmond music. Frankly, every time I come into the store the Frontman Terry among other's hardly greets me if at all, and is cold and indifferent to my presence at best, and utterly rude at worst. I go to a store because the people are Friendly and knowledgeable, not because of the prices or selection. In fact I do not mind paying a premium for these things. Gilliams' stores are not the only game in town, far from it. And the general consensus among almost every professional musician and educator I have heard on this is that any of these stores are only used as a last resort. Terry, I assume plays guitar, but I have personally witnessed him running through an obviously pre-rehearsed spill about violin rentals (I do not think he has any actual knowledge on these instruments beyond his parrot speak) to badger a poor grade school student (just starting off) and her mother into renting an Eastman VN-100 or the like. I watched in horror as he emeged with the instrument, which was barely adequate for the young girls needs, poorly set-up, and of an awful sound quality even for its price. He basically tried to force a sale on these people who were just starting out and trusted him only because he worked at that store. Luckily, they were not decieved and explored their other options, which I hope they took. Terry, read this, and know that your actions that day made me sick. To take advantage of a kid who wants to start music by throwing your pre-rehearsed ignorance in her and her mother's face, so that you can charge them a ridiculous amount to rent a sub par instrument that will probably cause the poor girl to quit because she thinks she sounds bad, but it is really that awful firewood fiddle, just so you can make a quick buck every month from her renting until she quits music or finds something better is despicable! Shame!

When purchasing any music equipment I prefer to buy from locally owned stores. The employee who greeted me asked what I was looking for that day. I told him that I was looking to see if they had any of the Martin Aura acoustics. The employee laughed at me as said that the Aura is a pickup system from Fishman. I advised the employee that I have was aware that the pickup is made by Fishman but the model of the Guitar is the Martin Aura Gt. Again the employee told me I was wrong and that he never heard of that model. Since I had been researching this guitar model for several months, I picked up the guitar pricing guide/catalog and showed him the model is Martin's own printed material. The employee still not convinced then looked up the guitar on Martin's website. No apology was offered and he also did not ask if I was interested in ordering the guitar. This is not the first time I have received poor customer service from your store. Being a small business I would think that customer service would be your biggest priority as online and big box have better prices. Arrogance and condescension will not win you any customers and in fact I took my business elsewhere and bought from one of your competitors.

Do not go. The employees don't want you there anyway. Do not call them either, unless you enjoy abuse. The brass repairman is a hateful, customer hating, arrogant person who should not be allowed to speak to humans. Gilliam, or whoever owns the place, needs to decide what's more important: Employee retention, or making money with repeat customers. I know what I'd choose...
