Chef Bob's Cafe

My wife Julie and i were in Edgefield, SC for the first time the weekend, as recent escapees from the Frozen North. We walked around the town for a bit, and decided to have lunch. Luckily we happened upon Chef Bob's Cafe. It was a charming place with a wonderful buffet of Southern Classics: Poin Loins in Gravy, Sweet Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Fried Steak, etc, It was all just great, and at a very, very reasonable price. For dessert, peach cobbler just out of the oven. Chef Bob, who is clearly professionally trained, is an inviting host, and the service was great. We can't wait to show up on some Friday Night for the Fish-travaganza. Keep up the good work!

The setting has a very "homey' feeling - the restaurant could easily be mistaken for as someone's house. The dining area is pretty cozy. We ate alone but I imagine if there were more people there we could hear each other's conversation. No big deal, though. Great food, great service! We came for the Southern Buffet on a Thurs evening. Food was excellent and had a chat with the chef. Perfect home cooking. I would definitely recommend this place for family outings, date night, or a quick craving for home cooked meal.
