Sansui Sushi Bar & Grill

I went here on a Friday night instead of a busy Southpoint spot because I want to support local small businesses. And before you read this review please know that in the past I spend 10 years as a bartender working my way through undergrad and grad school. I am lenient on service because I understand how tough of a job it can be.



I went with my mother, wife, and 2 year old. We were promptly seated in the back of the restaurant. We quickly got drinks and quickly placed our orders. One member of our party got hibachi chicken and the other two split sushi. The hibachi came out about 10 minutes after ordered...and then 10 mins....15 mins...20 mins passed before the waitress even came to the table again. She asked "are only two of you splitting the rolls". She seemed to have absolutely no concern that she dropped off one entree and not the other two for seriously 20 minutes. I decided to just relax and be nice....but then another 10 minutes passes and we still don't have food. So I finally went and asked the waitress if there was a problem. She said "no- its just that the kitchen is faster than the sushi". Yeah.......they surely aren't 30 minutes faster and if that happens regularly you honestly have a systemic problem in your restaurant. Anyway- 10 more minutes passed and we still didn't have food. So its been 40 minutes since we ordered total- and 30 minutes past the first order that was delivered to our table..all of this with a 2 year old at the table.



Finally we told them to just box it up and we hit the bricks. They apologized and we took the food home (which was decent). The kicker is that this was a Friday night and there were no more than 8 tables in the entire restaurant. Really no reason for there to be such poor service.



Hate to say it but I will never ever return to this spot. Looks to me like the won't be around that long. I wouldn't waste your time if you are considering this place as our family night out was pretty much ruined by atrocious service.
