Firehead produced beautiful jackets for my sons travel baseball team. The stitching was sharp and the 12 jackets delivered on time. Thanks Firehead!

I had seen some of their work ...

I had seen some of their work before and decided to go with a local business as opposed to sending my work off somewhere else. Keep it in the community type thing and help a local business out.

I contacted them and asked if it was possible to get an order of shirts done in a one week turn around time. Tight scheduling, but they said they could get it done for an extra $50 rush charge. That was acceptable to me as I really needed these shirts to be done.

I got the files to them and called them back later that afternoon to check to see if the files were okay and usable. I never heard anything back from them so I figured they were probably getting other orders finished up.

I check my email the following business day to see if there are any proofs sent to me for the orders. I got no such proof deilvered to my email. But, once agian these were simple designs so I wasn't foing to make a big deal out of it.

I call back the following day to check to see if everything is going okay. Once again I get no response. I leave a message for the second time and I get no call back about my order. At this point I a little concerned but I figured they had it all under control.

The day before I am supposed to pick up the shirts, I call them again just to check on how things are going. I am told NOW that they are having some difficulty with one of the screens. Now keep in mind I have not gotten a proof of EITHER screen and this is the DAY BEFORE the order is supposed to be ready. AND I paid extra for the rush charge.

I talk to the owner (I guess?) about the difficulties he is having with the design and suggest some things to adjust to get a product that will be passable, knowing from what he has said that there is really no way to get the design to be 100% accurate to the original design. It perplexes me as to why he hasn't started on this order until the day before it is due nor has conacted me before this with any concerns he might have about the design.

The following day I go to pick up the shirts and I see the design that was causing difficulty. It came out as passable. I knew it wasnt going to look exactly like what the original was, but it would have to do in a pinch. Then I look at the other design. The one that was ready to roll as it was. No adjustments needed... a very simple design. I was severely disappointed. The design looked like they didnt take the time to proof the order before wasting 24 shirts. It did not look AT ALL like what I had sent them.

I pointed out the errors to the owner and informed him that there was no way I could sell these. I didn't want a substandard product going out to represent my business and it would reflect badly on them too to have something of such poor quality walking around. To this he responds that there was probably something wrong with the file causing parts of it to get dropped out and that my artwork for this design was such that it caused the printing to look as it did. I know for a fact that this is not the case because I sent the exact same design to another printer and have gotten back a proof that is far superior to what they produced. So it was NOT my artwork that was the problem.

The owner then offered to reprint the shirts after spending an hour and a half fixing the artwork (which was something that should have been done before the initial print run and was no something that needed to be done in the first place). This was not a feasable solution as he would not be able to get the production done in time for the even they were meant for. The owner at no time offered to refund the money in full or even a partial refund. Pretty bad business practice in my opinion.

I will know better in the future to send them my business in the future. I am not in the habbit of paying someone extra to do a poor quality job.

This was indeed an extremely challenging job. We have done hand drawn tattoo artwork before and what translates well to needles and ink does not always translate well to garments and ink. My biggest mistake and regret on this jog was taking on a " rush" job having not seen the art before hand. Given the proper time I believe the customer could have been satisfied. Normally I stay away from these jobs but common sense was overridden in this case. The point I most want to convey here is that I truly believe that every business will make mistakes. It is how you deal with those mistakes that sets one business apart from the rest. This is my reason for responding. The falsehood in this scenario is this; Upon pickup the customer seemed pleased with the shirts and thanked us for getting them done on time. I got a call later that evening saying he was now displeased. We had a conversation about fixing the problem and I did spend an hour an a half redoing the artwork. For what purpose ? Obviously I had every intention of redoing the shirts or I would not taken the time to do this. We even planned to stay late to get them done. I called to discuss the situation and was informed that the customer did not have time to come and get them even if we could have them in time for the customers event the next day. At this point I would have tried to work out a situation to help them out but I was told that he was just angry about the whole process, would just "take it as a loss" and was hung up on. If you hang up on me in the middle of trying to resolve a situation I cannot help you. Never once did I get angry at him or raise my voice that would have illicit this response. Firehead can only do so much.

Super Bad customer service

I took two jerseys in to have the number changed on Tuesday and told them I needed them by Friday for a tournament. I was told that if their guy decided the number could not be removed that they would call. On Thursday I called for an update and was told they didn't have time to do it before Friday nor did they think it could be removed. Luckily for me one of their competitors was able to do the job they could not and in a fraction of the time!

I would not recommend. They are not dependable or professional!
