My wife was the responsible party for a minor fender bender recently. The other car owner took their car into GSA to get an estimate...to then be discussed and settled privately between us. Rather than providing the owner a quote first, GSA conducted repairs on the car and then held the owner and I responsible for repairs that we had already agreed didn't need done.

Although the car owner mistakenly authorized repairs to be done without a phonecall, I'm floored that an auto body shop doesn't provide a quote PRIOR to repair when they know it's a potential insurance claim!

So, I was caught between a rock and a hard place, wasn't going to leave the car owner hanging, so I was forced to pay 5 times more than necessary because GSA jumped the gun.

Rather than eat the additional cost of the unnecessary repairs, as any good business person would do, they held me responsible for a lack of proper communication.

I had heard that these guys lacked integrity...and I found out the hard way.
