I have frequently visited C. F. Roasters in the past, particularly when they were located downtown Douglasville. This was my second visit to the new location. I was quite disappointed in the customer service, or lack thereof. I scheduled a meeting and had not ordered. My party arrived. We continued our meeting, professional appearing as we were, with laptop on the table, conducting conversation. We were approached by a female wait staff who kindly informed us that we cannot sit without ordering. Starbucks came to mind and I wondered if this woman had any sensitivity or diversity training. Her tone was rude and inappropriate. She informed me of said policy and I almost asked if she was aware that Starbucks recently closed 8,000 locations to train their staff on the how to approach people with sensitivity and respect. Apparently she is not aware of the recent incident in Philadelphia. I declined to order, my colleague then inquired about the teas on the menu. When asked what a particular tea consisted of, she indicated she did not know, but went behind the counter to read the ingredients and let us know, from behind the counter. When my colleague indicated she would like that particular tea, she was informed that she would have to now get up and join the line to be served. I'm totally confused, did she not just take time to come over to us and inform us that an order was needed to stay? Perhaps she could have taken the order and then brought it over, when she had served the customers in line or indicated, from behind the counter that it was ready. I'm sorely disappointed. As a longtime resident in this community, I highly recommend training for the staff. I will take my coffee business elsewhere and meet in a place that does not "require" me to purchase to have a meeting. Coffee houses are typically gathering places for community. I personally felt that as a customer who has supported this business in the past, I will no longer give them my business or bring them any.
One visit and you will feel how much the people at Cabin Fever love the coffee they make and the people they serve it to. This place a has made this vibe that is warm, welcoming, and cozy with coffee that I guarantee will impress any coffee lover. It's really one of Douglasville's hidden Gems.
I/we have visited this shop many many times before tonight. Dessert and coffee were acceptable, but Rick the owner went on an un-provoked political/constitution rant while at the same time insulting me and all other teachers/educators for our part in destroying the youth of America. He was not satisfied until he roped my husband and I into defending our own political/racial/education/religious beliefs. It was very uncomfortable and very rude and unprofessional of him as the business owner. We finally left and regretted spending any money on this visit and all our past visits. I believe in supporting local business but will not give another dime to this one. Next time talk up your coffee and miss me with your politics.
Best cup in W. ga. They roast all the coffee in the shop, the smell is heavenly!
