Crab Island Water Taxi

Crab Island Water Taxi was a wonderful experience.....the staff made us feel like family from the moment we made initial contact with Michael. They provided snacks, floats, drinks, and even caught crabs for the kids to see and touch. They were extremely knowledgeable in regards to what Crab Island had to offer for the kids as well as myself. Great company, great staff, great pricing. Will most definitely return and be taken care of anytime we return to Destin💜

Picked me and my friends up right on time. The boat was clean, and the service was very professional. Will definitely use again.

I can't thank CI Water Taxi enough for an incredible day! My friends went to Crab Island early and I had to work so I missed the boat.....but thanks to Crab Island Water Taxi I was able to meet up with my friends after work! Amazing day, great service, and the boat captain was super helpful!

Delayed service - boat driver claimed his boat couldn't pass through, but several other same size boats could.

Not good price for what I paid for my family's trip. When you have kids, you don't want to be left waiting around for a service we purchased in advance.

Website isn't easy to navigate, and I wish we could rate on Facebook.

As we read a couple bad reviews on here, we will say that we are sorry for any unfortunate situations. With having a tropical storm Alberto in the area, it made for unstable water conditions and safety is the main priority. Our licensed captains make the decisions for safe transportation of customers and we did have an unfortunate day. The owners were in contact with all customers the entire time. We are sorry no passengers were able to use our service and refunds for pre bookings have been refunded back to all.

Nobody was left stranded, potential customers were just not able to use our service and we're waiting for weather conditions to clear. Our boats are pontoon boat for transportation, we do not have big vessels. We are a full transportation service with direct service to and from Crab Island and land. The other companies using bigger vessels are more stable to handle rougher waters and are used as a tour, site seeing.

We are responsible for passengers getting off the boat to a safe barge on the island, but unfortunately the waters on the island we're not safe for passengers. We will do our best daily to improve our process. But safety is our main concern. I hope this clears some misunderstanding and confusion to the unfortunate situation due to tropical storm Alberto and our service.

Honest review: Crab Island Water Taxi has BAD SERVICE! Left passengers who had pre paid waiting on the docks. Read other reviews - there are better companies in Destin, FL or Ft. Walton Beach with better service. $60-80 for round trip service, only to be forgotten?? No thanks. If you are in Fort Walton or Destin and looking for a taxi or shuttle trip to Crab Island, look elsewhere.

Do better CRAB ISLAND WATER TAXI. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Wanted to go to Crab Island with our kids and Crab Island Water Taxi made it happen. We had the best time. My kids loved it. It was beautiful and Crab Island Water Taxi got us there and back safely all while making the trip a lot of fun. We rented their snorkels and floats and saw a few dolphins. We strongly recommend using Crab Island Water Taxi! They helped make the best memories for our family. What a great addition to the Destin area. Now my kids want to do this every weekend.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Paid in advance via PayPal for Holiday Weekend service, never received an email confirmation or location for pick up.

Their website states “Every 30 Minutes pick-up and drop-off to Destin Harbor Walk.” DO NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!

Our scheduled pick-up was for 11AM, then called and said they wouldn’t be able to reach us until NOON.

Okay, no worries...there’s plenty to do on the Harbor. With floats and our mini cooler, we waited for some time at the Harborwalk, and became concerned.

At 12:15, we called and were told we’d receive a taxi in thirty minutes. At 12:45, still nothing, but said we’d have someone pick us up within the next thirty minutes. At this point, we were getting frustrated and stranded. They lied and said they couldn’t come under the bridge due to having commercial passengers. However all other paid passenger vessels were departing and arriving under the pass.

We asked for a refund, and they said they’d get someone to us within the next thirty minutes. 45 minutes later and still stranded, we finally gave up.

DO NOT ALLOW THIS COMPANY TO LEAVE YOU STRANDED!!!

We could have gone to the other pickup locations, yet we were told we would have a taxi pickup and to stay put. It’s doubtful they have a fleet of six boats, and doubtful they are organized or responsible enough to keep you safe. We spoke to the same person each time, and were left feeling extremely dissatisfied and literally stranded for 2.5 hours.
