Avis Rent A Car

I booked a car online for 5 days. I booked it through Orbitz, Expedia, and Avis because the total cost of the rental came to $45.48, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a computer glitch. All 3 sites allowed me too book it for this price. I printed all my confirmations and had the confirmation info in my phone. When I arrived to pickup my car, after flying into Des Moines from Phila PA, i was told that it was an error and I would have to pay around $220 for my rental. I was flat out told by the manager and staff "There is no way we are honoring that...and $220 is as low as we can go." This response was just unbelievable. I was also told by the Counter Manager "that I was lucky" to be getting the car for $220. I planned my trip based on what I could afford and it's not like I am a local. While staff were ignoring me, I called Avis directly. I agreed to pay close to $150, because I desperately needed the car, with the promise that I would be refunded and made whole after the trip. I fly into Iowa every 3 months. This by far the worst experience I've ever had. While Sterling (the Location Manager) and Ashley (the representative) were nice after we came to an agreement, their initial response to my issue was unaccommodating, flat out rude, and dismissive. I had an issue at Budget before and embarrassingly I was less than patient and out right angry; however I learned from that incident and made sure to be calm throughout this one. At the end, I told them that this was by far one of the worst displays of customer service I've dealt with in years. They behaved like I did something wrong. Avis did something wrong, not me. The fact that they refused to honor what was clearly posted and confirmed, left me and the avis rep on the phone incredulous. I scored my overall experience as a 2 because the Avis phone rep was quite helpful and the folks at the counter did listen and acknowledge their behavior BUT still wouldn't honor my confirmed reservation.

Absolutely horrible business. If the Iowa Better Business Bureau was real, this place wouldnt be operational. Its actually often bragged about by the district manager Vance that they get reported all the time and they do not care... Cycling through 4 to 5 employees per month. I myself quit this place months ago, and my Employee information is still active, my 401k still tied up with them. I quit months ago, and I could go clock in to go to work right now. All about the money and they will sell their grandmother if it would get you to upgrade. Everytime you upgrade your reservation, the one taking your order gets the commission. When you purchase DWL which you seriously dont need. They get a commission. The ones cleanig your car gets paid 9.50$ a hour and gets treated like crap. The one selling you a bunch of crap gets paid 14 or 15 and makes 600$ to 700$ per month in bonus.... If there was a way to rate it 0 stars, I would.

Th worst Service I ever had.

The weather is bad and i returned the vechile 10 mins delay and they charged me like 16.71$ extra can't even listen my words one is on the phone and another one is went away from chair and call to the manager no respect at all for Customers he was so rude. his name is TONI. beaware of them dont reserve any cars from Avis***,
