Dental Examination

Fluoride Treatment

Fillings
Metal expands and contracts naturally with temperature changes. Since amalgam fillings have about 50% mercury, the same mercury in thermometers, they’re going to react. For example, eating ice cream will cause the filling to contract while eating hot soup will cause it to expand. Over time, this constant fluctuation can weaken teeth.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
After graduation, Dr. Cable attended the University of Nevada School of Medicine Dental Residency Program. Here he learned multiple aspects of medicine and dentistry including oral surgery, dental implants, periodontal and prosthetic surgery, and prosthodontics and intravenous sedation training.
Jaw Surgery
Following his dental school training, Dr. Zachar completed a one-year AEGD residency at Sheppard, AFB and obtained his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center. He has been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In residency, he completed rotations in Anesthesia, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, General Surgery, Intensive Care Unit, and Trauma Surgery among many other surgical specialties. Dr. Zachar was also trained extensively in dental extractions, dental and facial implants, trauma, orthognathic surgery as well as cosmetic facial surgery.

Tooth Extractions
Traditional fixed dental bridges require the infected tooth or teeth to be removed. Once this is completed the teeth on either side of the dental extraction areas are ground down. Once this is completed a bridge of teeth is fused together. This puts stress on the dental bridge abutment teeth. This adds 1.5 to 2 times the stress of chewing and biting on these teeth. An average lifespan of a traditional dental bridge lasts 8 to 10 years. Once the dental bridge fails, a single tooth replacement turns into replacing two or more teeth. Having a single dental implant or multiple dental implants allows our team to replace missing or failing teeth at one time.
Bone Grafting
All-on-4® does not require expensive dental bone grafting and the process only requires us to use just four dental implants per jaw (upper or lower), allowing fixed teeth to be attached the very same day. Because this is a simpler process than conventional full mouth implants, it is also about half the cost.
