Abe Lincoln Movers

Worst moving experience I have ever had in my life. They didn't show up at scheduled time. It took them 3 hours just to load less than 800sf and all they had to do was load no packing just saran wrap two dressers and a fireplace. We paid for two movers and a truck and got a truck and one mover. A mover upon arrival said "he better get a good tip for this move". He refused to help his partner and complained about doing his job the entire time. He threw numerous items off the truck when we arrived at our new home and even hit my husband in the head with a ball. My husband kids and brother ended up helping the one mover unload the truck which ended up taking less than an hour. On top of that I called back and Ron was totally unresponsive when had issues, I asked for someone else to be sent out for the job because we didn't want anything else broken and was told no they had no one and would call back -no call. We paid to have several items broken/damaged and move things ourselves.

Ron and his team moved me from Colorado to Ohio in February 2015. Ron seemed very nice when he came out to give me his estimate. I was concerned that his company didn't have as good of insurance as the big truck companies, but he assured me that as the owner of the company he would repair or replace anything that was ruined. One of the movers told me it was his first day. He said that he went to apply for the job that morning and since Ron was low on movers for my move, he hired him on the spot. When I got the stuff delivered to my house in Ohio, I realized they lost several pieces of hardware to my crib and the rest of the hardware for other items were taped directly to the TOP of the furniture. There were also chips in pretty much every piece of wood. I reached out to Ron and he took no responsibility. When I told him about the issues, he got very angry. I would strongly recommend AGAINST using Abe Lincoln Movers.

My wife and I have moved five times over the last 20 years, but this by far was the best relocation experience we have ever had. Not only did Abe Lincoln Movers deliver everything they promised, they went way above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The crew members were professional, courteous, well-dressed, well-spoken, and on time. Not a single item was broken, nothing was scratched, and nothing was missing – a first for us. Furthermore, the crew patiently worked with us to make sure we were happy with the set-up after the move. Another pleasant surprise - Ron and his outfit did not add in additional and unexpected fuel or trip charges – their quote was hands down the best among their local competition and they kept every word of it – the price we were quoted was the price we got! This crew hustled and worked fast, but carefully! If we ever have to move again, Abe Lincoln Movers definitely has our business.

Not a good experience. Movers dropped a fridge resulting in a hole in the wall and a gouged floor. Accidents happen and I could forgive that. However, we had another incident in the same move when they tried to take the legs off the piano to move it and could not get one of them back on. We were promised by Ron (owner) that he would make it right. We are still waiting. He has since changed his direction and refuses to do the right thing. After I told him that I would be reporting his practices to the BBB, he said to go ahead, as he was going out of business. I do not recommend using Abe Lincoln Movers.

We had a very stressful move. We cancelled the moving company to save money, opting to move a 2400 square foot house from Iowa to Colorado by ourselves. We had issues getting our closing paperwork, which made us get a late start loading. We ended up not leaving Iowa till almost 6pm and intended to drive straight through. Our Uhaul ended up breaking down in the middle of Nowhere, Nebraska and the trip took twice as long as we thought it would. Early Saturday morning, while on the road, I realized I did not have the physical or mental energy to unload a 4 bedroom house. Abe Lincoln Movers were the first company that came up in my search, so they were the first I called. I’m so glad I did! They were ready to meet us that afternoon if needed. I wasn’t sure if we’d be there, so they met us at 9am Sunday morning. The guys had it unloaded in two hours and were so friendly and professional! My husband and I, both exhausted, were able to sit back and tell them where things go. It was such a relief! We’re in temporary housing right now and we’ll be moving again in May. You can bet we’ll be calling Abe Lincoln Movers!

We used Abe Lincoln Movers to help us unload a shipping container following a move from Florida. As usual, moving can be an extreme pain in the neck. I can honestly say that Abe Lincoln made this part of the move the best part. They showed up on short notice, right on time. They called before arriving to let me know who my movers would be. When they got here they jumped right in and wasted no time at all during the 2 hours it took them to move us up to the third floor. I'm an Army brat and served in the Army myself so I've experienced LOTS of moves. These guys made all the others look like amateurs. We were so pleased with them that I joined Yelp just to write a review for them. When the day comes for us to move again I will not have anyone else handle any aspect of our move. Thank you guys. We really appreciate your service!!

I called a number of movers and scheduled a number of in-home estimates, but after speaking with Ron I cancelled the rest. I got a good feeling from him, his philosophy, his company and his men. Over the next few weeks I packed all my belongings into boxes with labels indicating where each item should go. On moving day the 5 men (Ed, Shorty, Curtis, Orlando, and G) arrived 10 minutes early and immediately began with a walk-through of the house then started loading. While loading they were exeptionally curtious to me, my family, and each other taking good care of all my stuff. Within 2.5 hours they had loaded two 24 foot trucks, and we were on our way to my new (dream) home. After a quick lunch (pizza, my treat) they were unloading the first truck. Again each item was handled with care, and placed into the approptiate room. They continued with the second truck and were done with everything in 6.5 hours (including the drive between). I think that out of two trucks maybe 10 boxes were in the wrong room - which is likely due to my poor penmanship. This was much lower than the estaimated time, due to how HARD these guys worked. If I ever move again I would call Abe Lincoln movers in a heart-beat to move me again.

These guys are amazing! Ron's (owner) philosophy of honesty and integrity truly is evident from the moment he answers your call all the way through the move. No time wasting to bump the 2 hour quote, efficient work style and care is taken with your personal goods. Pads, plastic wrap and dollys are all included in the quote, too. There are other movers locally however; if you need a hand or are in a bind and not even on a budget, give them a call. You will understand why this 15 year old company has such a high star rating.

We moved from Tampa to Denver in June and used this company. Awesome! Jose and Rolando were absolutely wonderful. They did an excellent job. Very nice guys, polite, professional and worked like crazy. We are now moving back to Tampa and again we called ALM. Jose came back this time with Mike. Again these guys are awesome. We got a smaller truck this time and how these two got everything in there was simply amazing. I would recommend this company and these guys to anyone. I just moved to Denver and used Abe Lincoln to unload my truck. These guys were phenomenal. Very professional and were careful with all of the items. Nothing was broken or even scratched and they were extremely friendly throughout the process. Not only that, they were FAST! I had estimated it would take 4 hours and they got it done in 2. I highly recommend these guys.

We had contacted Abe Lincoln Movers last week to help unload our household furnishings. Two men, Jeff and Frank I believe their names were, were assigned to our job and I have to tell you - - I have NEVER seen anyone work like the two of them. We had scheduled a two-hour, two-man job and were fully expecting to have to pay for another hour or more. Some of the items we had were extremely heavy and bulky and had measurements that made them questionable as to whether they would fit through the doorway. Absoloutely unbelievably, within 45 minutes they had the entire truck unloaded and everything placed exactly where we requested. Not one single thing broken, scratched, or bent.



We can so very highly recommend Abe Lincoln Movers and without a doubt will call them for our next move. The only thing we would do differently is have them load the truck, too. With their strength, speed, care, and affordability, we cannot justify doing it ourselves ever again.
