I recently visited (November 17th) this store after work to pick up some much needed items. As I was nearing the end of my visit and passing the ice cream area, I heard someone yell loudly behind me "To close the door because they are going home to get skinny". Everyone in that area looked at me to see my reaction, I did not even look at the person who yelled and acknowledge that I even heard the insentive remark. I continued on to the soda area to get what I needed, I heard someone say (so that I could hear) "Her ears must be loaded with ear wax". I got my soda and preceded towards the checkout. Several people had congregated at the pharmacy area and someone yelled out "Hello" and I responded the second time nicely to a small child who was staring at me. As I waiting in line, a cashier opened up another register and beckoned an angry looking girl and her child (who was standing behind me) to come to her register. I followed to get into that line (not thinking that this is the person who caused the commotion earlier) as well. When the girl finished checking out the angry girl, she jokingly told the angry girl that she almost started to add my items to hers. I chuckled at the remark. The cashier was trying to get the girl to look in my direction, which she didn't. As I continued to unload my cart, I noticed that the cashier went over to the girl to help her load her items into the cart (which was regular coke items - nothing to diet with) and whispered something to her. The angry girl reacted by becoming even more livid and threw something in her cart cart and left quickly. The cashier was friendly to me as I paid for my items.



1st reason for this message: I no longer react to insensitive remarks to my physical appearance, I don't acknowledge anyone who say stupid things to try to hurt me. I just ignore them and leave the area. It is rude to say hurtful things to other people. Also, I notice that there are a lot of people who are much less fortunate than I am who frequent this store which I am even more sensitive to reacting to people there.



2nd reason for this message: The cashier made the angry girl even more angrier when she left. What if this girl was having to drive home. She could have caused an accident and killed herself and her child. I strongly recommend that this store train their employees skills in handling customers.



As a result of this incident, I will discontinue to frequent this store. I don't want my money to pay for poor employee skills.
