Overall

Exceptionally thorough, professional, and effective...throughout 10+ years of using Guardian ... if it matters, it's their Deep River office that services my property ... is how I'd describe them to a friend. Over the years I've used pest control services 6 times for extended periods, in five states, and a dozen or so for one visit or two. Without doubt, Guardian is the best I've used. It's not a business, I think, that has a lot of superior players, so I feel fortunate to have found Guardian. (Despite the gushing nature of this appraisal, I have no relationship with Guardian other than as a customer. Service excellence, in any field, is so rare as to demand a kind word or two.)

Overall, up until this year this company was just okay with their service. We constantly had to remind them when making appts for service to call us when they come to our home and where we wanted them to spray around the house for bees due to having animals. This information never gets passed from technician to technician. Especially this last year. On our second appt this year, no phone was made were made to us to let us know when they were coming. We did not want our animals outside when this service was being done. Also, we wanted to close our windows/doors when the service was being done. WE found out that that they came one day in July when an invoice was found in the door. They never called so our windows could be shut for this service and we never knew if they sprayed our gutters or not. Over the previous years, they had a good tech that would call us like we asked before he came and that was good since it was what we asked. However, this past year, the service has been going down here. The office manager is short with the customer and their requests and does not pass it on to others. Recently, the office manager was short on the phone when asked to change the date and then she abruptly hangs up on you. Like you inconvenienced her. In addition, when you have to call back to continue the conversation she is terse. Also, it was suppose to be a bi-monthly service, they tried to up the service to be 4-6 weeks versus 8 weeks. You had to constantly remind them about this and how you wanted your service down on your home and when to start it. When talking to Don Balint over the phone today. He was not very receptive to critism on his office manager's phone service or the service that we had had of them in the past. He did not return phone calls in a timely fashion or try to call us when we were available. Also, he never called when he said he was going too. I ended up cancelling our service due to the terse conversation that we had on the phone regarding their communication service from their office manager. I did give him a compliment on his person (Tracy) who did have better communication skills than the office manager did.

Overall

You guys have been serving my properties in for 5 years now. I've never been dissatisfied, or less than satisfied as a matter of fact. Guardian has always been professional, and courteous. I will always choose Guardian.

My daughter brought bed bugs home from camp. Before we realized the problem it was too late, and called a different pest control company. Their quote was thousands of dollars, and offered no guarantee. Luckily a friend gave us Guardian's number. The next day they came to our home, and let us know the problem wasn't bed bugs, but rather fleas. A couple days and a couple hundred dollars later and our problem was solved. That was seven months ago. We can't thank Guardian enough.

Don't call them !!!! The staff is not trained properly to deal with most pest problems. The owner, Don Balint is completely unprofessional, rude and obnoxious. If you a fabulous pest control company in the area call Braman. These guys know their stuff, are professional and GET THE JOB DONE. You will not find this with Guardian Pest located in Deep River and O.S. Connecticut
