RUN AWAY! She probably means well, but I did not find this therapist's methods to be helpful, constructive, consistent, or any of the things one is seeking when one seeks out a therapist.



My (now ex) wife and I chose this place to assist in working through some issues in our marriage including some infidelity and substance abuse issues. However, because this therapist considers herself to be a feminist (which was not made clear until several weeks into our counselling), none of those issues could be the responsibility of my ex-wife. I was the one dealing with her infidelity and drug abuse, yet somehow, i was the person that was causing it (still don't understand how that was).



Probably sounds like a bitter guy who's mad his marriage fell apart, right? I can understand that, I'd probably have the same amount of skepticism if I were reading this too. It was years ago, and I almost didn't write anything at all, and just thought about letting it go. But, then I remembered when we were looking for therapists and searching online, and I think it would have been helpful to get a review from an actual patient to give me some perspective. I at least could have gone in with my guard up for the slanted view.



To go further, she actually (on 2 occassions) complained that my insurance had negotiated a rate that only paid her $88/hour for our sessions. This was expressed DURING our billable time, and in a manner which clearly implied that she felt she was being underpaid for her services.



Your results may vary, but I'd suggest proceeding with caution.
