Dr. Shotwell is one of the few doctors anymore that will take time with you and explain to you what you need to understand about results of tests. She never rushes you through and seems to genuinely care. She is very thorough. She doesn't run tests to just run a test but does so to make certain what is happening with you. Am impressed w/ both Dr. Shotwell and her NP Dorrine Moore. Because of Dorrine's astute comments re my breathing during a March visit, and her request for my next echo cardiogram, I moved this procedure, along w/ some other medical procedures to earlier dates. This resulted in finding out my pacemaker was nearing expiration (months earlier than expected) and my possibly having arterial blockages. Dr. Shotwell is tops in my book. She consistently has qualified staff, is up to date with her world of medicine, is professional, caring and genuinely concerned for her patients. I have been seeing Dr. Shotwell I believe since 2006 for long standing respiratory issues. She goes out of her way to stretch for better ways to deal with my issues and is always doing the best job where my health is concerned. Actually she does an excellent job at encouraging me in other areas of my health as well which is even more of a support and encouragement for me. In my opinion, Dr. Joyce Shotwell is one of the best pulmonary physicians I know. She and her staff are always very caring and concerned. You can really tell that she cares greatly for each of her patients. She has got me to where I am doing excellent with my multiple pulmonary problems.
