After taking my RV to the Eastern Sierras this Spring, it was time to get some serious work done on her. I asked around and got a recommendation for American Transmissions. Gave them a try, and I can only continue pass along good words and I strongly recommend them for all your RV repair needs!

Please take my $3,133.00 lesson and stay away from this place. The other reviewers are spot on in their description. I wish I would have seen the reviews. My check engine light is still on from the transmission codes. I had to take it to AutoZone to get all of the codes because they didn't get them all when I took it back after it was "fixed." Horrible job. I had my vehicle checked by 3 other reputable places, including the dealership and I was ripped off. My rebuild was nowhere close to costing me that much. Learn from my mistake. Go at your own risk.

They have been great to deal with and the repairs are quick and accurate, even with an oil change they are mindful of my time and get it done in a hurry.

I took my 2005 Maxima to a local Nissan dealer when it started shifting erratically and was told it could not be repaired. The service manager told me I needed a new transmission! ($4,000)

Wanting a second opinion, I took it to American Transmission.

After they did what they call a “multi-check”, they replaced a sensor located near the flywheel and charged me $69.00!

My car immediately ran perfectly and still does!

These guys are my heroes!

I recently developed a shifting problem with my ’06 Lexus. Knowing little about transmissions or transmission repair facilities, I took my care to a shop near my office for the sake of convenience. American Transmission at the N.W. corner of I-35E & Valwood Parkway, proved to be the right place!

I dropped off my car on Tuesday morning for a free diagnostic service and received a call two hours later giving me a complete assessment of both my mechanical and electronic issues.

From beginning to end, the staff was courteous and professional and the end result was a timely, quality repair performed for $2,000 less than quoted from the Lexus dealer!

My time is valuable and my money is scarce! They saved me both! I highly recommend American Transmission for any auto repair you may need!

AVOID THIS PLACE, SAVE YOUR MONEY

I have never recieved such a horrible service, nor was I ever humiliated like this in my life! First of all, our transmission wasn't fixed (we brought our car 1,5 months ago, got a year warranty). Had to bring our car back 2 more times! Talked to Anthony (he has some serious mental issues), the guy who runs this place, who was extremelly rude to us! Woudln't let us talk to the mechanics, yet woudn't explain to us why our transmission is still not fixed. Wouldn't let me wait for my car at the waiting room, he said: don't want to have a pregnant woman sitting in my waiting room (im 23 weeks pregnant), then tossed the keys to my face and told to leave. Husband told him to treat me nice, Anthony screamed to a mechanic that was passing by to talk to us otherwise he would punch my husband. A threat?!! Asked for a refund, heck no, Anthony said "no" to every question asked. There was no logic, no facts, just an extremely rude guy. Please, please, please for your own sake AVOID this place. I have filed an official complaint with BBB.org. today. Just shocked why would they give a business license to a place like that. Besides poor quality service, this place is dirty, unorganized. RUN, RUN away!!! Found this link describing another horrible experience with Amerian Transmissions: http://www.captainjakes.com/tranny/index.htm

Poor guy had to see them 8 times (we have "only" been there 3 times, and still our transmission is not fixed!) If it is still not fixed, im not leaving my car for the 4th time! Im coming the the lawyer! We paid $1400 and want either our transmission fixed or our money back!
