Dr. Montgomery believes that there is much misinformation about hormones, as well as misguided regimens that are neither safe nor FDA approved being prescribed by practitioners who lack specialty training in gynecology or endocrinology.

Hysterectomy
Most patients experience minimal post-op discomfort, usually no vaginal bleeding, and are able to resume normal activity, even work, in 7-10 days. Compare this to the 4-6 weeks required with traditional types of hysterectomy.
Endometrial Ablation
Dr. Montgomery has been performing endometrial ablation procedures since 1991, with unsurpassed results. He was first in the Cy-Fair area to perform this procedure and has performed more ablations than any other ob-gyn in the Cy-Fair area.
Laparoscopy
Dr. Montgomery now offers Laparoscopic Supra-cervical Hysterectomy or Mini-hysterectomy. This procedure involves laparoscopy, or “Band-Aid surgery” to remove the diseased upper part of the uterus. If the cervix or lower part of the uterus is normal, it is retained. The upper part or fundus is removed through one of the 1/2 inch incisions, using a new technique, which can reduce even large fibroid tumors to small segments, for removal through a small incision. The ovaries are usually not removed so natural hormone production continues normally.

Dr. Montgomery also evaluates and treats fertility problems. Medical induction of ovulation, laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, or adhesive disease, and microsurgery, including reversal of tubal sterilization are areas where Dr. Montgomery has special training and skills.
