Lance's Jewelry

I have just moved to the area and was referred to this jeweler by a friend that had recently purchased an engagement ring for his girl-friend. I had a Movado watch that I had bought for my husband two years ago for our wedding day. He had only worn it that one time...our wedding day. It was never worn again. We realized that the watch wasn't keeping time, and therefore I called Lance's and asked if they were a Licensed Movado Dealer and could professionally replace the battery. They said that they were and to bring it in.

THEY ARE NOT A LICENSED MOVADO DEALER AND DO NOT STAND BEHIND THERE MISTAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evidently, the man that took my watch to replace the battery, in the process damaged the face of the watch, the movement, and terribly scratched the back, as well. I did not notice this at the time, since the gentleman never brought my watch back to me, but instead walked out and proceeded to tell me that the battery was not the problem, and they would need to send it to their watch maker. (Which I assumed was Movado, since I was told earlier they were an authorized dealer. )

I was called two days later with a price of $190.00 to fix the movement, refinish the face and replace the battery. At this time, I realized that this was NOT Movado! I was FURIOUS! But, instead of getting mad on the phone with the watchmaker, I called the jeweler that I had originally bought the watch from and stated what had happened.

My jeweler, who is an authorized Movado dealer, opened the watch in front of me and showed me the damage that the amateurs did. THEY RUINED MY HUSBAND'S WATCH!!!! They didn't know how to appropriately replace the battery and ruined the movement and face.

I called LANCE'S back and spoke with Alecia, which was very professional, however I had to call her back because it had been 4 days since I explained to her what had happened. They were un-resourceful and told me that I was lying and the watch was tampered with. It is evident that these people are crooks and are only after money and not customer loyalty. It is also evident that when they are given the opportunity to correct a mistake, because mistakes happen, they won't even attempt, but instead try to put the blame on the customer.

The worst part of the story happens to be, now, since I was lied to in the beginning about them being a licensed Movado dealer, and THEY WERE/ARE NOT....I have to pay out of pocket $200.00 to Movado to have them fix my watch that only needed a battery replaced in the first place.

Because they are not a licensed Movado Dealer, LANCE"S JEWELERS VOIDED MY WARRANTY WITH MOVADO BY TAMPERING WITH MY WATCH AND IN THE PROCESS RUINED THE MOVEMENT, FACE, AND BACK OF THE WATCH. MY HUSBAND ONLY WORE IT ONCE, AND THAT WAS FOR OUR WEDDING DAY.

THIS PLACE IS A PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER ADVOCACY.

Also, I had a custom ring made there 2 years ago, and WOW! It turned out better than I ever dreamed! I’m so confused by the other negative reviews. I’ve only ever had exceptional experiences there! Lance’s Jewelry is the only place I will shop, and I tell everyone I know to go there! They also have a line there called “Pearls Rock” that is so cool + Funky. Lance’s is the only place you can buy it. I purchased a necklace to wear with my business suits + get stopped every time I wear it by people admiring it. I have done business at Lance’s jewelry for over 10 years now and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my jewelry. Many times I have taken my antique jewelry and family heirlooms to Lances for repair and he has always taken great care to protect and inform me about the risks involved when working with such delicate pieces. Many times I felt anxious about leaving jewelry with such great sentimental value, but Lance and his staff are knowledgeable and his jeweler has always done an amazing job with all my repairs. Lance even designed a one of a kind custom engagement ring for me. If you’re looking for a jeweler in Cumming, GA Lance is the only one I would recommend. Nobody is better when it comes to jewelry design, repair, or has better customer service than Lance’s.

Just moved to Cumming this year and needed to have a watch repaired. A friend recommended Lance’s jewelry for the repair so I thought I would give them a shot. What a surprise, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the watch was repaired within a week or so. They also have a great selection of new jewelry to choose from; I even got a new pair of diamond stud earrings for a great price. I would definitely refer Lance’s jewelry to anyone around the Cumming area.

I recently dropped off some loose stones to Lance’s Jewelry that belong to my sister-in-law. My sister-in-law wanted to have a necklace charm made out of the stones that belonged to her late mother. Lance personally worked with me to design a one of a kind necklace charm. Lance added a few additional stone for symmetry and within a couple of weeks my sister-in-law received a charm valued around 15K retail for only a fraction of that cost. The look on my sister-in-laws face was priceless, she was blown away. She could not believe that the charm was made from the same set of loose stones that she initially provided. By arranging the stones into a different configuration, and adding a few extra stones, Lance created a charm like no other that I’ve ever seen, stunning is the only way to describe it. Lance and his staff are wonderful; I can’t say enough good things about them. They are professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable when it comes to designing and creating a piece of custom jewelry. Lance has been my jeweler for many years and he has always gone above and beyond my expectations. My sister-in-law lives out of state, but she has already sent more jewelry to be repaired because she was so impressed after her first experience with Lance. After seeing my sister-in-law’s charm, some of the girls in her office now want to send their loose stone to Lance so he can create new pieces for them as well. It’s always been a great experience doing business with Lance and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of new jewelry, jewelry repair, or custom jewelry design.

In FL where I moved from 16 years ago, everyone knew each other as well as trusted each other. I had a wonderful jeweler who took care of my Grandmother, my Mother & myself. Three generations of women trusting one family owned business. How will I ever fing that in Cumming, GA?? I was concerned.



Low & behold, while I was at a Vet. apt with my poodle, I met the nicest person. His name was Lance White. I also learned that he owed a jewelry store in Cumming & had been in business for many years. The employees at the vets gave him a high approval & told me that they themselves frequented his establishment.



My sister came to town for a visit & you know what trouble sisters can get into shopping together.....Well we ended up at Lance Jewelers. We met the nicest person named Janet who became our best friend. What service & help she gave us!



On other visits I met Alicia & Tripp as well as other employees. I have been so delighted with their help & good service. I dropped my Movado off for a battery change & it took at the most five minutes. I have taken many pieces of antique jewelry in for them to fix or change in some way & they always do an excellent job.
