Named for the flower that blooms once a year, Gyenari Korean BBQ & Lounge (pronounced jin-AR-ee) brings a distinctive brand of flavorful Korean barbecue cuisine beyond Koreatown and into the thriving culinary scene in Culver City. At Gyenari, Angelenos with an ever-expanding taste for gastronomic adventure can enjoy exceptional Korean barbecue with California influences, a notable wine program, and innovative Asian-inspired cocktails, set within a sleek, modern venue that is set to emerge as one of Los Angelesā€™ most engaging new dining destinations. A venture by Korean-American entrepreneurs along with restauranteur Robert Benson, who is the owner of Creperie by Jack n' Jill's and has worked in the industry for over 20 years, Gyenari fuses traditional Korean cuisine with contemporary California influences. And, because of our location here in Southern California, we incorporate a wide variety of organic ingredients as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes, into our offerings." Korean barbecue is at the heart of Gyenari's cuisine. An attentive wait staff that Benson describes as "ninja-style" delivers beef, chicken, fresh seafood, and market-fresh vegetables to tables with inlaid custom-designed gas grills (state-of-the-art downdraft system that vent from below to minimize smoke), over which guests cook the various meats at a leisurely pace. Accompanying the barbecue items is a plethora of banchan (side dishes), which include the popular fermented cabbage condiment, kimchee.
