Portrait Innovations

I've been to this Portrait Innovations twice. The first time was when our daughter was 20 weeks old and had a great first experience. The pictures were beautiful.

We decided to get photos when our son turned a year old. The young woman taking the photos wasn't trying to make our son smile at all. Then she put him up on a high wooden box for a photo and he fell off it and hit his head on a second small wooden box in front of her. (As a parent standing back out of the shot, the scene of him falling was terrifying.) She didn't even bother to help him up off the floor after he fell. She didn't even apologize as a courtesy to us as the customer. She just sat there on the floor and waited to see if we were going to continue on with the session. We refused to let her take anymore photos of him after that. I will NEVER go back there after that disappointment. Very inexperienced when dealing with small children.

I have tried Portrait Innovations three times and have been disappointed each time. I always make an appointment and show up about ten minutes early, however, I still end up waiting at least 40 min. past my appointment time. Because I have kids, I make an appointment around their nap and feeding times, so I depend on that appointment time. By the time I am able to have the pictures taken, the kids are tired and cranky and the pictures turn out horrible. They only have two studios, and they encourage parents to bring outfit changes, so I really feel they are always way over booked. Also, the photographers do not seem to make good use of their time, and seem to be always walking around confused on what is going on. I do think they have a great price with the $9.95 portrait package, but after waiting so long and being exhausted the pictures are not even worth it. If you want to try Portrait Innovations I suggest, bringing snacks, a portable DVD player and LOTS of patience, because this will be an exhausting event.
