I worked at In-N-Out for two years after graduating high school before deciding that I needed to do something with my life. I passed American Career College on the freeway, so I remembered the name and gave them a call. Since I dont like the sight of blood and my typing skills are excellent, I decided to enroll to become a Medical Biller. That decision changed my life. American Career College helped me get an externship at Pinnaccle Lien Services and I was hired upon graduating! Although it can be challenging, I can honestly say that I love my job. Timothy Reade

Working for Lindora now as Progam Asst while looking I had made my decision to attend American Career College while I was still in high school I did my homework and looked into three schools before enrolling. Ive always been interested in the body and organs, so becoming a Surgical Technician felt like the right path for me especially since its hands on and I knew I wouldnt be bogged down with paperwork. Im still finishing up my externship, which is in Sherman Oaks, a long drive from Rancho Cucamonga, but I am determined. I wake up at 4:30 a.m. every weekday to get to work and will continue to do so until my 15 weeks are over working hard feels great when you have a goal. Sandy Stillman

After years of working as a cashier at various retailers, including an auto part dealer and even my brothers clothing store, after I gave birth to my baby two years ago, I knew that I needed to find a stable career. The medical field had always interested me and after seeing a commercial on television for American Career College, I gave them a call as soon as my baby was a year old. I decided to pursue a degree as a Medical Assistant because I like working with people and its the best decision Ive made. I hope to continue my education and see how far it can take me! When my girlfriend got laid off and enrolled at American Career College, it inspired me to look into a program for myself. I had been a truck driver up until that point and knew that I wanted a real career. My neighbor is a Pharmacy Technician, so it was something that I had heard about and when I began my externship at Coram Healthcare, I knew I had made the right decision. Its a great feeling to be State-Certified Pharmacy Technician, and I cant wait until I am certified nationally in the next month or so! Brandon Horstmeyer

Maritoni Rose T. Atienza, Maryanne Joy Tolentino Atienza, LVN We are sisters who are one year apart. Both of us knew we wanted to go into a profession that was secure and we knew we would be guaranteed jobs. Although we graduated high school a year apart, it was a blessing because it gave one of us the opportunity to spend a year at a four-year college, where it was apparent that it would be a long, winding road to reach our goal. We had both relatives and friends who attended American Career College, so we looked into it and enrolled into the LVN program together. It was great because we were motivators for each other and since were the best of friends, we were there to support each other. Were fairly confident that we would like to pursue full time positions at the hospitals where we performed our clinicals for three months at Veterans Hospital in Long Beach and Promise Suburban Hospital in Paramount. Although well be working in two different hospitals, well be doing what we love and wont be too far apart from each other.

I went from being a receptionist to working full time as a Dental Assistant at Molma Endodontist in Downey, and its all because of American Career College. When I graduated from high school, I worked at a credit union and then took a position as a receptionist at a general clinic. It wasnt until I saw a commercial on television for American Career College that I decided to look into programs. I had a friend who graduated as a Medical Assistant in 2007, so I knew a little about the school. I kept my job as a receptionist and took classes at night. After spending 160 hours working in a Pediatric office for my externship, I felt confident and qualified to move on. A teacher at ACC referred me to a root canal specialist and I was hired full time after I graduated with my Dental Assisting degree! My ultimate goal is to become an Orthodontist, but for now, I really enjoy what Im doing. Tammy Rodriguez

I graduated as an LVN January 1998. I am a proud LVN and have since been in various parts of nursing. Im glad i made the decision to go to school although i did have small children and obstacles, with perseverance and determination, I DID IT. I went to ACC in L. A. and if i could go back, wouldnt change my decision. I went back to ACC a yr or two after i graduated. I Hope the new students do well, and dont give up at all. All the hard work is worth it . I cant believe i am looking back 12 yrs later.... Hang in there new students :-) Michelle Emery
