Godlike conceit, hellish care. When my sweetheart ended up incarcerated here by a quack named Valverde (a purported shrink), the only good thing was getting out from under his pall before he destroyed her with the wrong medications. Words can't describe what incarceration in this place is like. For-profit medical care at its worst, Northwest Behavioral exemplifies everything wrong with large, impersonal institutions beholden only to insurance. Horrible people who know they're unaccountable: uncaring, unresponsive, irresponsible, unethical. If you or a loved one ends up here, don't wait, get out while you can. Caveat emptor! (Let the Buyer Beware!)

I had occasion to use the ER at Northwest Regional on 5/14/12 and was extremely pleased with the service of all the staff and especially Dr. Dennis E. Willis. The care was excellent, fast, and very professional. Dr. Willis was attentive and exceptional in his ability to asses my situation and treat me and the other medical professionals were compassionate and truly concerned. I would recommend his services and that of the ER to anyone who is in need of help!
Thank you for all you did!

They have a regular hospital here too which seems ok (albeit slow) but the psychiatric end of this hospital is the devil's abyss as far as I'm concerned. i would never put anyone in here that I cared anything about. If you really hated your mother in law....maybe..

This was the most horrible experience ever. I have only depression issues; no other mental health problems and I had to leave this facility because the psych techs were so abusive and surly. The food is much like what we feed state prisoners (sandwiches for dinner). My meds were all screwed up..They replaced many of my daily meds with whatever they felt like using..ie. My lipitor was replaced with zocor. Prevacid was replaced with something else..and on and on..I am diabetic and was not given my insulin shots in a timely manner so my sugar stayed high. That's a really poor patient care. You can count on your room being locked all day and there is no public bathroom or water fountain on the unit. Hence, you go without water or ask a surly psych tech if they wouldn't mind opening the pantry every time you need a "baby water." The guards often make up the rules as they go and enjoy messing with you while you are already having a rough go of it. The Nursing director fully supports them, so don't bother going to her for help..
You check in here, you're just scrwed. Best bet, check in elsewhere.
I left here angry, dehydrated and feeling I wasted $1,400 per day on a hospital that was not even close to being worth it.
