The worst of a horrible breed, Northwest Behavioral is a throwback to the Cuckoo's Nest, a place that should no longer exist and to which no one should ever go. Conceited, coercive, uncompassionate and self-interested: everything a professional institution must never be. Sadly, Texas law permits this hellhole to function. This profit-centered, thinly-veiled jail represents everything that's wrong with health care today: institutionalized injustice. If you or a loved one gets incarcerated in this prison--and make no mistake, this is prison--hire a lawyer and get out while you can. Northwest Behavioral exists solely to suck profit from the healthcare teat. The miserable food isn't half of it…. Stay away!
