La Joya Bay Resort Apartments

Love living here. The new staff is very professional,friendly and organized. I really enjoyed the new events like free pizza at the office and movies in the theater. Looking forward to a game night or pool party soon,as I am new in Corpus and would like to meet some people. I would, however like to see some events for pets in the future.

Great staff and best view in town! To the previous person, how long ago did you move in? I agree that there were issues in the beginning but I stuck it out. I did look for a new place sometime back only to find that they were just as expensive and nothing like the pool here or appliances. I don't mind paying a little extra for the bay view. My neighbors are great and my area is quiet. Now there are new people in the office and maintenance. The service is great. No issues. My only thing is paying for parking, but the amount is low and I like that my space is right in front of my apartment. I have recommended La Joya to friends and co-workers.

I wish I had read all these comments before moving here.did like what I saw but once moved in things changed,paying for a parking space is ridiculous,now having trouble parking in the spare parking.and these idiots building should have started in our area first. Our vehicle can't stay clean. I can't wait to move. They say they would take care of whatever we needed,lies

This place is a joke. Here is a list of problems we have had since moving in: (Mind you we have been here less than a year while paying 1425 a mo for a 1 bedroom)

* Electric wasn't properly wired and shorted out for months before being fixed

* There is no flashing (not up to code) in the walkways between the apartments so every time it rains w/ wind; the water comes in!!

* Our main/front window (that over looks the water) was NEVER (and mind you still hasn't been after 9 months and LOTS of complaining) properly stuccoed or calked and it has caused our living room to flood on 4 different occasions.

* Our bedroom window was not properly sealed and leaks every time it rains

* Our bathtub was not properly calked and was "sealed" after move in with crappy work

* Our kitchen wasn't even painted after move in and it took them WEEKS to do so. They then managed to splatter paint and plaster all over the cabinets and marble counter tops.

* Our floor boards are lifting up through-out the ENTIRE apartment. Often causing us to stub our toes etc.

* They shut the water off for hours and hours with no heads up.



Im sure there are PLENTY more issues but those are just a few as to why you should NEVER live here. If I could give a negative star.. I would!

Placed several work orders and they were completely ignored. Drove 6 hours on moving day to find that the building hadn't even passed inspection and were forced to stay in a hotel for over a week. The new management is terrible and very unhelpful. The pool hours suck. The parking is the absolute worst. Whoever painted these apartments shouldn't have been paid a dime. The floors all over the apartment were coming up. The road noise coming from Ennis is the worst i have ever heard. I promise you will never sleep again. Im a little upset i have to even give this place 1 star... I would go negative.

Omgosh, my company just got us apartments in Corpus Christi and I am so lucky that out of two other places they put me here at La Joya Bay Resort Apartments ...I Am Loving It !!!! I'm about to go enjoy myself at my gorgeous pool. LOVING BEAUTIFUL CORPUS CHRISTI AND LA JOYA BAY RESORT !!

Moved in about 5 months ago. My apartment is upscale with granite, wood floors and stainless steel appliances. Just what I was looking for and thought it would be hard to find in an apartment in Corpus Christi. Office staff is professional and friendly. No complaints so far. Haven't had to use maintenance yet as everything works OK for now. Pool is amazing!!! But, make if you have a guest make sure you have them check out a pass in the office. I did not the first time and they had to leave. They are very strict about the pool, but for me I am glad. I don't want people who don't live here using my pool.

Parking was fine. A few people complained because they had to walk a extra few steps to get to their apartment. Now they made well over half of the parking lot reserved and are charging $35/month. If you come home after 9pm then you have no choice but to risk getting towed because there are no other places to park other than a reserved spot. Its GREEDY! First floor apartments have mildew issues. Long leg spiders are all over the place. The amenities are nice but the apartment itself was a rush job. The front door has small gaps that let bugs get in. Patio has spider problems. Walls are starting to crack from the apartment shifting. Everything was fine and issues were dealt with until the old management left and the new people came in. We pay too much in rent to have all these issues!

New management just came in and took made half of available parking into reserved spots - for $35/month. Keeping in mind there were no issues with parking previously for the past 10 months, and these are uncovered spots, its pure greed.

The ratings on apartment guide are inaccurate and give this place too much credit. Besides providing shelter, this place doesn't even deserve the one star that facebook requires us to give it.

Advantages: Close to NAS Corpus and TAMCC

Nice view of Oso Bay, beautiful pool, hot tubs and fire pit, barbeque deck and clubhouse.



Disadvantages: Noise from busy Ennis Joslin Rd is intolerable. Maintenance requests have gone unanswered for weeks or longer, Poor fit and finish, low quality cabinetry, already chipping and peeling. Exclusive contract with high priced AT&T Uverse for TV/Internet. No dish allowed, no cable alternatives.

Charging for parking !

Too close to busy street. No insulation . Too much noise 24/7 not recommended.

I was thrilled to move into La Joya based off of it being brand new, gorgeous pool and views. But after moving in, it is not worth it at all. Missing granite, holes in the wall, broken doors, clogged toilet upon moving in via construction workers, no drain for the washing machine, broken and damaged appliances, unfinished floors. Shocking they would let us move in. Office staff almost unwilling to fix these things in a timely manner. Take your money elsewhere, these apartments are not worth it.
