United States Swim Academy

I've been working as the aquatics director of United States Swim Academy for just over 6 months. Though there is some room for improvement, I can't help but be so passionate about this place. As many who take their kids here already know, I am a transgender woman from Phoenix, Arizona. I had to leave several months after beginning my transition due to an overall unsafe climate for people like me.
I moved to South Florida to find greater safety and acceptance. After several months of not being able to find work as a highly qualified and competent professional (I have a four-year degree, several professional certifications, and have worked in this industry for over 8 years), Karen found my resume and decided to hire me. When I mentioned that I was transgender, she did not hesitate to make me feel safe, accepted, and loved. No other professional has done that for me in the way Karen has.
As a professional, I can tell you that USSA incorporates some of the best science-based techniques out there. We are all dedicated to making life better for the children of Broward County.

Our daughter was always afraid of water, even bath time was challenging. She has had 2 ear surgeries which made our case a little tougher because she had restrictions to get in water, so we hadn't had a opportunity to let her practice to overcome her fear. Our family has been part of United States Swim Academy for more than two years. I absolutely love Coach Karen and all her staff. Talk about great customer service and loyalty to your customers! Coach Allison and Danila are amazing. Because of them my son is thriving tremendously in the water! Thank you for all you do for my son and our family!

I started with the mommy and me classes 4 years ago with my daughter and absolutely loved the teaching and dedication each of the coaches showed to us. My daughter now is in Gold and we are so proud! She enjoys going to class and learning. We pay good money for her to be there and to learn and that's exactly what I have watched Coach Karen do and push her staff. Being an athlete since I was five, my coaches were very similar to Coach Karen. They trained hard, taught respect and made it a fun learning environment. Thank you United States Swim Academy for all you to for out little ones!

This place is a scam! Yes, read the reviews. Many people have had issues getting money refunded for various reasons. I pre-purchased a 6 month long membership and we never even took one lesson from the package. Prior to the start of the package, we had a falling out with Karen King and we both decided it was not a good fit. I have email communication stating that she was going to refund the money and she never did. She is unprofessional and rude. I bet she has made thousands of dollars preying on hard working innocent moms/families and keeping money that is owed back to parents. I would bet this is a huge area of profit for her. I sued Karen in small claims court and she didn't even show up. Florida Swim Schools owes me $517. Stay away!!!!

U.S. Swim really is the best! I drive over 30 minutes to come here for the group class with my almost 2 year old and recently switched for a short while to another well known swim school much closer to me. I didn't appreciate U.S. swim as much until I did that! The other place never answers their phone when you call (something U.S. Swim is great with), and this other school cancelled for a month and lied as to why (which I figured out later and then called to inquire, so this is confirmed), and the worst part, was this other school said my child was the only one in his level that went under the water at all (something I pushed for since he was used to it at U.S. Swim!) This new place was impressed with his skills at his age.. Well, this was because of his time at U.S. Swim! We don't have the time to backtrack like that! I have now switched back to U.S. Swim and I'm so happy I did!! I would rather drive further!!!

My son has been going to this place for almost two years. Coach Shaq has been BEYOND amazing with him. Always patient and kind. If you can afford to have private classes with him, don't hesitate. You won't regret it! He's worth every single penny. My son won't stop talking about him and admires him to no end. He has a way with kids and the way he teaches them technique is priceless. I would love my son to stay with this coach. I will keep paying for his private classes as long as I can because my son looks forward to them every single time!!

This is by far the best swim program around. everyone is so helpful and they get back tk me promptly . they adjust to my schedule needs and cooperate fully. But the best thing i have to say is the Coach! Coach Alana is amazing with my little Savannah who started at 6 weeks and has really enjoyed her classes. Coach Alana knows how to make me feel comfortable and i don't worry one bit!

Don't bring your kids here!!! Let's start with Karen the owner,very rude started my son here 3 months ago on a special they said they were running for 99 per month with included once a week for a total of 45 min (15 min to stretch 30 min in water) after our 2nd week at this school they took out the 15 min of stretching not such a big deal but as the weeks went on I timed the min the children were in the water they were in the water for 21 min out of 21 min karen would interrupt the instructor making were my son was in the water for 15 min complained about them already taking out the 15 min stretching and now less water time Karen said sorry I'm short staffed what would you like me to do? Rude if you ask me? 2nd months I got billed for 115 when I was told 99.00 third month the charged me 35.00 when I asked about that. annual Mershon fee they didn't tell me about.. asked for a refund and oh no they steal your money..watch out here the customer service suck and kids work here that mislead

Awesome. Quality customer service. My kids are both enrolled in the early afternoon programs and they insist on going even on holiday.

My daughter has been going to US Swim Academy only for about 6 classes now! I will make sure to tell everyone about it though.

We will return in the summer for sure! All the classes and instructors were very on point and on top of their games.

The classes are not only very educational but also fun for the babies! I highly recommend this school!
