Ameri Coating Asphalt & Concrete

During the week of October 29, 2010, Americoat installed a new asphalt driveway for our home. The work was done incorrectly. And although Americoat promised to fix the prooblem, they have not.



During the course of the winter, we began to notice water problems in our basement at the spots where the driveway meets the house. The wood paneling in our basement was absorbing water, which caused the paneling to look wavy and rippled. Also, loose asphalt began to fill up our window wells.



At first, we did not connect the basement water damage to the new driveway. So, we called out two (2) separate basement contracting specialists to see if they could diagnose and correct the problem. Immediately, each specialist said the new driveway had been incorrectly installed.



Specifically, the driveway had been installed without a some kind of lip or bank around the window wells. This allows rain water to course down the driveway and directly pour into the windows, and down the basement walls.



Both basement specialists told us that this is a relatively easy fix. I called Americoat six (6!) times before I received a personal call back. I was assured that workers would come to out house on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, to fix the problem.



Americoat did not come to our house, as promised. They have not returned phone calls either.
