General Info: Founded in 1935, the Alabama Department of Human Resources offers a range of services and programs. The department maintains a child support enforcement division that helps families to achieve self-sufficiency. The department additionally operates an adult protective services division that supports senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. It provides a variety of independent living and foster care programs. The department s family assistance division offers work and job training programs. The Alabama Department of Human Resources manages a staff of more than 4,000 people.
