        Overall

        My family has been patronizing Leevy’s Funeral Home services since my mother died in 2001. Prior to that, my extended family, including my mother’s sisters and brothers had been content (in spite of the sad occasions) customers for many years. Leevy’s is a family owned and run establishment that I think has been around for decades and we have never received anything but compassionate consultation and efficient service from Mr. I.S. Leevy Johnson and his capable staff. In recent years at church and other community events or funerals, I’ve been able to interact a bit more with the son of Mr. I. S. (Reverend Chris Leevy Johnson) whose patience and assistance was indispensable in aiding us with proceedings after my brother’s death. This review is my way of saying thanks because: 1) my brother’s body looked great. I was so worried that he wouldn’t look at all like himself but not only did he look like my beloved baby brother, he also seemed to be smiling; resting even. It was so critical for me that he appeared to be at peace. 2) Chris’s demeanor and disposition was so warm and genuine that I was immediately at ease about how things would go. Despite my obvious distress, his easy nature was a true Godsend during our time of bereavement. 3) In discussion about the financial aspects of taking care of our loved one for the last time, Chris and his staff helped outline numerous options to ensure that we could meet the billing expectations related to the arrangements. Overall, I feel extremely comfortable recommending Leevy’s for any and all services to bereaved families in need of funeral services. I feel like Chris and the Leevy’s are now part of our extended family!
