Overall

Went there with my young friend to ride. She had a lot of horses already saddled out there. The weather was sweltering. First we had to use the bathroom. Huge mistake I don't understand why the house isn't condemned. It was horrific.

When we went to ride away she goes after a horse at the end of line who nipped at the horse in front of her. Forcing her head down with barrage of insults. That really works on a horse. She asked who could ride and I said I did. I own horses. She would ask do you know Texas style or Calif. style? Never heard that

in 40 yrs. of horses.

During the ride she was busy berating her volunteers. Telling them do heir or you'll never ride again. I ask them is she like this all the time. They said she's worse when she's alone with the horses. The riders she dealt with in a condescending way. And snapping the horses' bits during the ride. My concern was a 30 yr.old horse my friend rode with a very respiratory rate. When we of back to the place the next group was already ready. Those horses didn't have a chance to get water in 90+heat. The 30 yr.old horse was really breathing hard. Never got water in after an almost 2 hours ride. Just went on to the next one. Never again.

A great place for something different! You do have to bear in mind that this is not a Theme Park ride on a mechanical device attached to tracks. It is a working ranch operated from the farmhouse. You are riding live horses, sometimes through quite dense forest. For safety reasons the trail bosses instructions have to be followed, both by the riders and the horses. If either do not obey then watch out! The one and a half hour ride was just right to see deep into the forest and out into the open scrub land. All the animals were well cared for, including the old ones that have retired, and friendly. Lots of happy dogs too. Very good value for money for a real life experience.
