It all began May 15, 1975 with a "Pizzazz" idea by John & Marie Spiccia. Why Pizzazz? It was John's lingo back in the day'it's hip'it's cool'it's PIZZAZZ! And hence Pizzazz was born. With his business savvy and his wife's delicious recipes it was sure to become the place to be'and it was'and it still is. Pizzazz became known for its excellent pizza, out of this world calzones and enormous entrees. The Spiccia's hard work, generosity and Pizzazz's delicious food at unbelievably fair prices would keep customers coming back again and again. John and Marie created a restaurant that succeeded in attracting a diverse and loyal trade and recruiting family members to keep up the tradition. All the Spiccia boys were involved in the restaurant through high school and college. Then in 1992, Dave, the youngest son and always the gambler, set out to expand the Pizzazz tradition by opening a second location in University Heights across from John Carroll University. His efforts motivated him to move forward with new ideas and introduce a third generation of family members to the restaurant business. Pizzazz on the Circle was born with a more contemporary flair. We offer a separate dining room, bar and private party room - Jake's Speakeasy. From here the menu continued with the traditional but expanded with a more innovative flair. Through the efforts of our many talented chefs including nationally acclaimed Executive Chef Brian Pekarcik to our current Executive Chef David Gopar, new classics were created such as the Roasted Vegetable Stack, Horseradish Encrusted Salmon Salad & Strawberry Salad with Gorgonzola, Eggplant Roulettes and an unparalleled variety of pasta sauces including Abrutzi and Diablo. The constant emphasis on the freshest ingredients can be tasted in our sauces, pizzas and meat/vegetarian friendly entrees. Pizzazz has something for everyone! We're devoted to continuing the Pizzazz tradition and keep our emphasis on it's all about the food !
