Overall
My first experience with Eye S...

My first experience with Eye Site Optical was not a good one. I am on disability so I have very very limited income. I asked the receptionist some important questions before adding my name to the patient sign in sheet. I wanted to know up front what I have to pay out of pocket. She informed me that today's exam was free of charge and then the first $115 for frames and lens was covered. In today's economy that won't pay for much. So I informed the lady that because of the low amount I was not going to be purchasing frames and lenses from their company. I was going to cancel my appointment seeing that I was not going to use their services but the woman recommended I get the exam because it would be good for up to 2 years. OK I stayed. I was called back to an exam room to look at eye charts. I told the woman that my eyes were fine and had no clue as to why I was there. Well she played dumb and continued with the tests. I informed her that my last vision test was in 2008 and my vision is the same now as it was back then. She acted like I was lying and said we'll see. She did her tests and charts. Tested my current prescription lenses and then reluctantly had to agree with me that i was right. Finally she had me tilt my head back and put something in my eyes. Instantly my eyes felt like they were bulging out of my head and my head started pounding. She guided me to a waiting room and asked me to wait for the doctor to call me in to dilate my pupils. I am sitting there and my headache is turning into a migraine all the while people coming in after me are getting called ahead of me. So I ask a woman how much longer I have to wait. She informs me there is one person in front then me. OK. So I go back and wait. 15 minutes pass by and I go ask another person, once again I'm told next. 15 minutes go by and I head to the front desk and tell her I need to reschedule and leave. Another woman over hears this and tells me that my name was just called and my turn to see the doctor. I was standing by the door leading to the back, my name was not called and no one was in the hallway to call it. She was all worried and excited that I may leave before getting the exam. She told me to follow her to the room and will get me going. We get to the room and she tells the tech that I am leaving and need to be seen. She says shes not close to being ready for me because there's a person ahead of me. The woman who led me back there told her I was leaving and needed to be seen. The tech mentioned cancelling the appointment and rescheduling. This pissed the woman off and told the tech to handle it and stomped off. I thought that was a little odd... what did she care if I rescheduled. After she left the tech marked on my file that I was rescheduling and pointed me in the direction of another receptionist to make a new appointment. Finally my turn at the counter and tell the woman I need to make a new appointment. She asks me if I had an exam and I said no, I have to leave. She begins to tell me to go out the front door, turn left, walk down the building and after that i heard BLAH BLAH BLAH. I was like This is so stupid. So I walked out the front door, to my truck and drove away.

I hate being lied to. When a person is told that they are next, that person should be next. Saying my name was called when it actually wasn't, as I'm standing there, is another lie. I have diabetes and high blood pressure. Most doctors and assistants know to check your pressure to make sure its in a safe enough range to dispense anything that will affect a persons health. The first woman I dealt with who gave me the eye drops did so blindly without checking my pressure or asking questions. My wife said I could have had a stroke or passed out from those drops. I think all they wanted was easy money. I am on disability and have an excellent insurance plan so all they saw were dollar signs. They weren't trying to help me at all.
