Screamin Mimis Kids Place

I was unimpressed after taking a tour of the daycare. The restroom was dirty and the children were not being properly supervised by the staff. I would never have peace of mind knowing my child was left alone at this facility. Look elsewhere.

I have used both the Clayton and Triangle Town locations of Screaming Mimis in the past and was somewhat satified with the results of the day care drop off service. I took my 4 year old daughter in for a 2.5 hour visit this Saturday, and had a very disturbing experience. When I returned for the pick up, I could not initially find my daughter. I was scared and had to ask a staff member for help. We found her huddled together with a boy that was probably 7 to 9 years old. The boy had his hands all over her. She said they had been kissing. I could tell and confirmed with her that this had been going on for a while and was not a quick kiss on the cheek kind of thing. I informed the staff in the front who brushed off the incident as"kids being kids." We received a call about 9:30PM from Screaming Mimis, Clayton. I thought it was to discuss the incident, but apparently they were trying to find my child since she was missing and had not been checked out. (Imagine the hours that had passed since I took her in at 2:30 and stated it was for a 3 hour visit and they were just calling at 9:30 when she could have really been missing). On Saturday night, after realizing our daughter was not missing and heard my story, stated they would have a good talking-to with the boys parents. I explained that this was a staff issue, not an issue with the boy. If my daughter was being watched like I was paying for, this would not have been a problem. The owner of Screaming Mimis called me this morning. She offered an apology and explained they were stretched on there 1 to 10 staffing. It was busy. The people watching are teenagers and would be reminded to do a better job and she said they would improve. The owner credited my account for the hours that day without my having to make the request. Although I am satisfied with the owners response, I still wanted to post this message so you can help keep this company on its toes. Our community needs places like Screaming Mimis. I used them to assist with the birthday part last year, and they were excellent. However, my friends have told me that the restrooms were unkept in the Triangle Town location and that they had been having trouble there. I ask other folks that continue to use Screaming Mimis to ask the staff people to insure there child is well looked after. I would like to see this company around and doing well, we just need to keep reminding them to take care of our precious children!

Best place to take your kids for a few hours. The employees are awesome, the place is very clean and safe. My kids go there when they are bored, they actually beg me to take them there and they have a blast. They absolutely love it. The prices are great and they have daily activities the kids can get involved in. Excellent place.

Great place for kids birthday parties. Kids really enjoyed the different play areas. Also good place to meet for a playdate or if you just need to run errands with out the kiddos as they have hourly dropoffs.
