Spillway Lodge

The food is ok. The price to eat there is way to high for me.

My wife and I have been coming here for 26 years, as we camped at Cowan Lake for years also..

Now, that alone should tell you something. I met the owner once, while waiting for a table.

I asked him about his mules ( Jacks), they were the size of horses. He told me they can out walk a horse any day of the week!! He was very easy to talk to, I liked that.

While walking to our car, 12-31-08, I noticed a couple horses, in one of the barns, hope he still has the Jacks..

By the way, the food and sevice is the best!!!! Sort of causal and yet a tad formal, you felt welcome, the place has a warm feeling to it.

The Diamond Steak is now my favorite...I like it Med-WeLL.w/ homefries and green beans, the salad bar goes w/ it and

has any and everything, you would want. I really like the bread!!!! w/ butter.

By the way 12-31-08 was our 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary!!, there's no better place to enjoy than The Spillway Lodge...
