I have visited this child care facility twice this year looking for childcare options for my kindergartener. The first time I visited, it was later in the day (the center is open until 11pm) the children were sitting around watching PBS quietly. It seemed fairly calm at that time, and my "tour guide" explained that this was their downtime, so they watch educational television shows. I was okay with this. A few months later, I went during the morning and it was a completely different story. A kitchen staff came down to greet me and quickly informed me that two of their teachers were late and the owner had to do the morning bus run. When she took me into the school age classroom, I first noticed that she had left the children unattended while she answered the door for me. STRIKE ONE! While she was explaining to me that she was just a kitchen staff filling in while the owner was out, I noticed how chaotic the classroom was. Kids running around, shouting, and throwing baseballs. STRIKE TWO! She preceded to tell me that she knew the kids were taking advantage of the situation since she wasn't their regular teacher. STRIKE THREE!



Now, I have heard stories about this daycare. About how staff had to take a huge pay cut with no warning despite increased enrollment and how the issue of bullying in the school age room seems to go unaddressed. I ignorned those comments to come to my own conclusion, and here it is: I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY CHILDREN TO THIS CHILD CARE FACILITY. The rooms are chaotic and the teacher don't seem to be dependable, friendly, or engaging.
