Unprofessional, amateur workmanship, zero communication skills, will not recommend or use ChromeDome Audio ever again !! Adam White, (ChromeDomeAudio, LLC), did not complete the Fender modification I hired him to perform. We discussed the sounds I was looking for, which Adam said he could achieve and were in line the “Snollygoster mod” described on his website. The mod I received was less than satisfactory, resulting in a harsh, noisy, microphonic sounding amplifier. Adam also took it upon himself to add mods not discussed, or agreed upon. His workmanship appeared to be rushed, sloppy and unfinished; wires exposed, lock washers missing, etc. Adam neglected to pack the amplifier with care on return shipment, resulting in $500 worth of damage, which Adam claimed no responsibility for and told me to take up with UPS. After a 3 month battle with UPS, I received no compensation. I reluctantly sent the amp back to Adam, providing him with a detailed checklist of what to return to stock. Adam disregarded the checklist, reinstalling cheap original input jacks, capacitors of the wrong value, etc. He kept the amp for over 3 months with no response to voicemail, emails or texts. When I finally did contact him, he claimed his computer crashed and he had no idea where to send the amp, or how to contact me. My voicemails, checklist and return shipping label all included my contact info. Adam also returned the amp with no power tubes; he claimed to no longer stock the industry standard 6L6 tube. Instead, he sent a $40 check and told me to buy the tubes and bias them myself. My cost: $360 in services, over $100 in shipping charges and an amp that will forever be compromised. Adam refused any type of refund and claimed no responsibility for his negligence. Adam is as unprofessional as they come; amateur workmanship and you won't see your equipment for a long time, if ever in the same physical condition. I would never recommend Adam to any of my professional musician, road tech, or audio engineer friends. Totally unreliable!!

An overall bad experience: incompetent workmanship, unprofessional communication, and a condescending attitude. He had my amp for 3 months total. Brought in my Tube/SS hybrid amp with only a mild distortion for a bias adjustment. If it’s not done correctly you can cause it to blow up. Picked it up, plugged it in and it blew up—smoked and sparked.

He had it for another 4 weeks. Completion date passed with unreturned calls and emails. Finally got an email response to a simple inquiry of a finish date, saying that I was welcome to take it elsewhere and to “wait to be contacted”. This is after multiple delays and no communication. Got another email blaming me for his faulty repair work and that I must have “thrown it down the stairs”. Nonsense.

Finally I was told that he was done “messing with it”, and to come pick it up, now nonfunctional. Made an over-30-minute drive to find a sign on the door saying they’d closed early. Made another wasted trip—again not there.

After 3 months total, I asked him to stand behind his work. I managed to get a refund and received my amp back now totally broken. And this was after he threatened to remove a few installed parts worth about $10 (he didn’t, but most were burnt-up and destroyed anyway from his “service”). After that refund, I’m now out an additional $100+ to fix his damage at another shop.

During all of this waiting, I bought another amp head off of Craigslist. The guy I bought it from said his son also had a bad experience at Chrome Dome. He had picked up his amp in worse condition than when he brought it in. And he experienced poor attitude and service.

If you want to bring an amp in for an adjustment and tune-up and get it back broken, make wasted trips, have calls go unanswered and unreturned, and deal with an unprofessional attitude, this is your guy.

They were horrible! They never answer the phone, they're only open M-Th 11a-5p, but they show up late, take long lunches, and leave early all the time. You can't even leave a voicemail in they're off hours! They had a piece of equipment of mine for 3 months and didn't even bother to call me when they were done looking at it, and THEY DIDN'T EVEN SOLVE THE PROBLEM. Don't go here if you want your equipment back. I had to have the technician drop my stuff off at another area shop because he couldn't tell me the next time they'd be open for me to drop by to get it. RIDICULOUS!
