Very Disappointing!!!! Should have gone with my gut instinct. They first person I talked to on the phone was not very friendly. They wanted my son to call so he did and he said the same thing I thought - the person was not very friendly. Went there anyway and the vibe I got during the intake was not much better (I should have left then). He was there a few days and miserable. Management was not friendly or supportive and my son witnessed a manager making fun and mocking another resident. Worst of all when you get discharged they kick you out on to the streets even if it's 1am which could be a HUGE LIABILITY if something were to happen to a resident (and then keep your money). I understand 0 tolerance but they should have some compassion, some human decency and deal with those issues at a reasonable hour. I then find out a resident can be put on a "restriction" instead of being kicked out onto the streets at 1am ......clearly poor management and poor training Not one other person I talked to on the phone after this experience was friendly. Don't waste your money!

Other than the Damen House, which needs to be rehabbed badly, Fresh Start has very nice homes.

I do not recommend Fresh Start because the house managers have little sober time, usually less then a year and receive no training. They tend to be under the age of 25 and receive a free room in lieu of salary. Due to the lack of qualifications, they are quite unprofessional and this causes the residents much stress and is not conducive to maintaining sobriety.
