The best way to do this is through regular dental examination with digital x-rays, and cleanings performed by Registered Dental Hygienists. We make this easy for you by helping you to manage your dental appointments at the appropriate intervals. We do this with text and e-mail reminders. Close to 45,750 Americans will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year. It will cause over 8,650 deaths, killing roughly 1 person per hour, 24 hours per day. Of those 45,750 newly diagnosed individuals, only slightly more than half will be alive in 5 years. (Approximately 57%) This is a number which has not significantly improved in decades. While we always visually survey your mouth for oral cancer, we can now provide quick, painless, and inexpensive oral cancer screenings in our office, utilizing VelScope. We offer the Velscope screenings for $25 if insurance does not pay for it.

You take prenatal vitamins, and work to make sure your nutrition is excellent during your pregnancy so that you give your baby the best shot at a healthy start. Prevention and education are the key to your success. We will partner with you to help you stick to a regular cleaning schedule, and offer the guidance you need to maintain great at-home hygiene. If you and your baby would benefit from an extra dental cleaning during your pregnancy, we will advise you.
