I recommend folks stay away from Emblem hospice. We had no case manager (RN) for the first 6 weeks as she supposedly was on vacation but they were actually training her for another job. Then we had several months with a temp case manager who wasn't in their hospice division. If you want something you need to follow up - usually multiple times. After 5 months we got a real hospice case manager and things seemed like they'd get better. My husband took a turn the same day we got the 'real' case manager. I called their 24/7 number to ask where I could find a nurse to come help me and they said they didn't know. It's been 5 days since my husband died and no one has bothered to call; no chaplain, no caseworker, no social worker, nothing. The only reason I didn't leave this hospice is the CNA, Stevan, was outstanding and my husband so enjoyed his twice weekly visits that I didn't want to take away one of the few bright spots in his life. There are many hospices to choose from, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
