Overall
Excellent food!

Had the best bleu cheese bacon burger! Fried pickle and fries! There was so much great food I had to Ask for a second plate! Fast service also which seems to be a problem with small town places. Will be back again for the catfish

Overall
Fried green tomatoes, fried ok...

Fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and fried pickles. I know, I know, it all sounds too... rich, too fattening, or just plain too much. But the light, golden, flavorful breading the good folks of The Southern Kitchen use is just perfect: it brings back those fond memories of Granny's good home cookin'; without the unpleasant after-effects of the greasiness. The okra is by far the freshest I've eaten since childhood.

And don't even get me started on that peach pie! Perfect tender crust, most and a bit chewy on the bottom - more like a cobbler, but oh-so pretty topped with a heaping dollop of fluffy whipped cream..... MMMMMM, heaven! The owner bakes the pies fresh daily.

But, just so you don't go thinking that all I ate was fried and sweets, we had burgers all around save the youngest. She had the biggest grilled cheese sandwich I've ever seen with a side of carrots. The burgers were good sized: with fresh leafy lettuce, a juicy slice of tomato, a choice of sides, and, of course, that amazing fried pickle.

To top it all off, the decor is lovely and the staff some of the most friendly I've ever met. If you go to visit, be sure to say hi to Allie, one of the best servers I've ever had beam a smile at me.
